It'd be nice to get a Config file version number or something. I"ve been told so many times that my config file may be out of date...well great, how do I check?

That'd be an easy win, I think, for us ALP users.

If I understand your question, just ensure your config file is the ONLY one on your USB drive - that way, by default, it has to be the most recent one downloaded. Otherwise ALP will add a numerical label to the file name and it won't be read by the CPU.

There is nothing to check. If your loaded config file is out of date the system will tell you. To avoid it just create a new config file at every firmware update.

My point is that I don't think anyone wants to do that every time. Maybe a way to get around this is to have an import old file and spit out a new file functionality without manually selecting everything again?

You dont need to do it everytime. Only when it tells you. If you have BT just save an online profile and it would get updated automatically at updates.

Don't have BT.

Just saying that there should be an easier way for us to do this.

But you can import the old config file with the old settings and click download (if nothing new was added in the config website) a new config file.

Oh that's all one has to do???

Man I've been an ALP user for years and I had no idea!

This isn't in the documentation is it?

Yes.
No, just like how there is no user guide on how to use this forum.

That is what I do, I load the old file and then save it as a new file.

You can do that even if there was stuff added. The new stuff will be set to the default values.

After a testing run of N=80 or so, I can confirm there is a bug in the latest ALP firmware for those of us running privacy keys.

Every 30 or so bootups, I'll get a configuration file out of date error. My privacy key has a config file that is the most latest version.

Most bootups, there's no error. Everything is good, the ALP is happy. 30 or so power cycles in, it'll barf at me, and then the ALP will tell me that it's restoring defaults, and then it'll tell me it's accepted the latest config file on my USB stick.
