This was new in my part of town. @romclean has reported seeing up on the North Side but on the South central side of Houston they rarely get his crafty.

A black HPD Stealth Taurus was hiding behind the Holmes road on ramp to highway 90A southbound. Fortunately Waze had him pinned because if not he would have been completely hidden except for the very tip of his roof top antennas. I didn't get any alerts off of him so he was either being very selective or was taking a nap. Since I had him pinned I was rolling dead on the PSL. This looked all the world like the kind of rear Lidar setup romclean reports seeing up in North Houston. Spooky stuff.

Yeah I heard of it before Alderan blew up
Alderaan was unfortunate, but the leadership was never friendly with the empire and in fact overtly conspired against it. Plus, some planet had to be made an example of to display the destructive power of Imperial fleet.

To make an omelette you have to break a few eggs.

Why didn't they just hire Klingons and use photon torpedos?

At the time of the Imperial attack on Alderaan the Klingons were still a tribal nomadic civilization on Kronos that hadn't developed mechanized technology. They wouldn't develop photon torpedos or even the Bird of Prey until centuries later.

Nailed that one. Dr Who could certainly have contacts with any of the known universes, Star Wars, BSG, Star Trek, as well as AVP universe. But of course you'd have to endure the annoying sidekick characters and repetitive story lines.

It's a little known fact that Stalker makes a range of Sonic Screwdrivers.
I always wondered why Mac or Snap-On don't make one of those.

I remember watching the original Dr. Who episodes on PBS station KUHT in Houston and thinking this is the epitome of a low budget production but I couldn't resist watching then. and those danged Darliks.

Dr. Who was similar to Napoleon Dynamite in budget production and I saw that movie 3 times.

How did we go from stealth HPD cruiser to low budget films? Sorry erikonphoenix.

It's all good. I love a good hijacking. Especially if it's about scifi.
@tempnexus if you ever want to get out of Spring and come down to the Valhalla pub on the Rice campus you can sit around and listen to conversations like this thread. Scifi, space, nano robotics, bed bug DNA and quantum physics are typical subjects for conversation.

Nice will do that.

I will come as Gkhar from Babylon 5. Or as Zathras.
