No way to avoid tickets. Inevitably we all get them but what you want is to drop the frequency down to where one would drop off your record before another one came on which for me is about three years. If I can keep my ticketing frequency to one every three years I'm winning. Some dudes on this forum are going on 20+ years ticket free though which is pretty spectacular.

So for this reason the main thing you want to avoid is the self inflicted ticket which is what you got yourself yesterday. But it happens, take a lesson from it. Like when I got a Lidar ticket because I didn't preflight my vehicle and confirm my jammers were on. Dumb ticket but now I preflight my system every time for activation and volume.

If it was radar how do you have the R3 setup? If you have it segmented perhaps you encountered something out of tune? or if you have Kband off or or narrowed perhaps it was K band? could have simply been that he put radar and didn't actually use it...

AZ just got a big Grant to purchase new equipment. I havent seen laser yet along i40, it's mostly been instant on ka band or k band. Where did you get the ticket at ? Dps encrypted the radios long ago after the gumball rallies.

Sorry for your pain. Quiet cars are not nearly as fun.

About 11 years ago, I got busted when a CHP moto PD heard me drive by in my track car on the freeway, just as he finished pumping gas.

Right foot down! LOL! I just redlined 4th gear and hit 5th, when I noticed someone suspicious behind me and lifted. I was north of 145 mph in a 70. He wrote me for “approximately 90”. My V1 never went off. He heard me and tried to pace me.

Good luck in your battle. It happens to the best of us.

I saw the radar gun in his cruiser but he pointed to the dash cam with speed reading. All he did was pace me. Never had to pull out the gun. The Uniden is fine. All Ka wide K wide, filters on. Nothing alerted me to him I just think he put down radar cause of the dash cam.

Right outside Winslow AZ on I 40. I have yet to see laser out here which is why the TMG system is going in next.

He never used it at all. Had he I would have mashed it down to 75. I always heed what the r3 alerts me to.

Either lying about radar or it could have been laser - cops seem to write radar for anything sometimes even if it was laser

Even quiet, the cop would of still shot you. Lidar is the new speed tool nowadays. Quick , easy, vehicle specific, instant submission in court, no defense. I got clocked worse than you did, but just simply vanished before any Christmas lights were ever turned on. Got to love twin hair dryers:) lol. My advice is to get a local traffic lawyer, a judge will burn you at those speeds.

Been only a couple of years for me, but there's now a minimum screen timer - you can't just click thru all the screens and call it done.

My last took about two hours; nice though you can spread it over a few sessions (I think I did mine in three, as I recall)

I actually enjoy the online course so I take the whole six hours. Usually on an iPad with a cigar and cocktail over three nights. I've found they do change the content periodically so every time I take it I learn something new.

back when I was younger i straight piped my RX7, I was getting a ticket every month, and not just for noise, but for speed, reckless, a bunch of other things, I put a silent exhaust on my car, and no more tickets,

people ask me why I don't put a loud exhaust on my bike, the answer is simple, stealthiness from cops, I have installed aux lights and reflectors to add in visibility but left the exhaust alone, you would not belive the difference it makes to have a quiet high performance vehicle, one time I was riding side to side with a loud sport bike, a FHP pulled him over and waved me to slow down lol..

Also while lane splitting in Miami (illegal) it is important to see them before they see or hear you.

The laser beam is pretty narrow too, which some RD's may miss, especially on long distance shots.

Wouldn't it be worth for to get an STiR+ and stealth install the antenna inside, rather than trying to take off the detector when you get stopped........................

Hire a traffic attorney. It’s cheap and it will save you from having to do driving school and you won’t even have to show up for court.

Just for the record....and because AZ state laws really haven't changed a great deal in 40-odd years...

My first 'big-boy' citation was PSL+40. The only saving grace was that it happened as a juvenile. Reckless driving...uh-huh.

Ninety days w/o my license sucked, however.
