Hello everyone :D I'm really new at all this Radar Detector and Laser Jammer stuff. I watch a lot of Vortex Radar and think he is a great guy. Helped me purchase my first Uniden R3 and man has it peaked my interest in this whole Radar/Laser stuff. I'm looking into getting either an ALP system or a TMG for my GMC Sierra. I drive a lot in Georgia and Florida where they say DragonEye is very popular. I know the ALP is the best but the TMG looks very promising and is much more college budget friendly. I'm going to be posting some pics of my truck on the forums(laser jammer placement suggestions) asking how many heads and where they should be located cause I have no idea. I can't wait to learn more about all this stuff and be active on here!

Welcome man!
ALP is way more mature obviously, and a fully known quantity. But I can understand they want for something a little cheaper, TMG does seem to be coming along in leaps and bounds too.

Welcome to the RD Forum!

Using any other available counter measures?

As for the Jammer market there are two main issues driving pricing 1) the limited customer market 2) the research and technology involved especially with keeping up with what new Lidar comes out so that one can be kept safe from new Lidar Guns also.

I am the perfect example that old dogs CAN learn new tricks! This Forum is packed with tons of useful information from best detector for where you live and drive mostly (so far there is NOT a single detector that is best for everyone/everywhere), proper mounting possibilities, additional counter measures, fast but intelligent driving habits, and of course @Vortex videos!

Thank you everyone!!!!! @Transporter I just have the Uniden R3 right now and I love it. As far as any other counter measures not yet. I'm in the market right now for some laser jammers and just doing research. This forum is just filled with such nice and helpful people. I drive a lot in Georgia and travel to Florida occasionally so getting some well equipped laser jammers to beat DragonEye will be helpful.

Welcome to the Forum @Logan T !

This is indeed the right place to catch up on news and get questions answered.
The R3, for me, has been an awesome detector and I think you made a great choice. If you're on a budget for parking sensors I would recommend the TMG unit. It has shown great performance and is coming out with some cool stuff in the near future. From what I am seeing it is performing quite well with the Dragon. The vendor is right here on the Forum so if you have any questions contact @Jag42 .

Welcome. My Escort ZR5 system isn't too bad neither. I believe it can compete right with ALP's and TMG.
