Greetings RD Forum family! Registered on the forum back in 2014 while searching to get info on State bands for a roadtrip from San Francisco to Seattle. This forum helped me out alot! Was introduced to RD's from my older brother back in the 80s when I couldn't even drive yet. I've had some Cobra's in the mid 90s and decided to get back in the game when I bought a Whistler CR85 for the trip. The CR85 Finally took a crap on me over the summer & just yesterday I finally graduated to an Escort Passport X70 for the Lo Lo! Glad to run into this site a while back & im pretty sure I will be having some fun getting so info & knowledge!

Welcome to the RD Forum!

Using any other available counter measures?

I am the perfect example that old dogs CAN learn new tricks! This Forum is packed with tons of useful information from best detector for where you live and drive mostly (so far there is NOT a single detector that is best for everyone/everywhere), proper mounting possibilities, additional counter measures, fast but intelligent driving habits, and of course @Vortex videos!

If you're in SF itself (like me), laser what you want to watch for with local PD. Otherwise on the highways, it's laser and Ka band (CHP).

Started using Waze after my CR85 took a dump. Other than that, just old school driving the normal speed where I know where CHP's be posted

Im always in SF from Downtown to Portola, Vis Valley, basically always on I-80, 101, 280, 380, 680, 780 freeways

How often do you even see laser?
I don't live there as of about 1 1/2 years ago but when I did I pretty much never saw any speed enforcement in SF proper.

How often? Whenever SFPD is doing speed enforcement, it's always with laser.

There are certain hot spots they sometimes perform speed enforcement, such as around Kezar stadium and Sloat Blvd.

Speed reminder signs throughout SF ("Your speed is __") are Ka.
