So the manual says the above. So assuming its not translated properly I assume 24 inches minimum between heads but under 30 inches MAX? Also a third head should be in the middle of both so that throws off the original concept since it'll be under 24 inches period... I have a small tall car so thinking about going 3rd head but... :airquote:

Please post a pic of you car. 2ft or less will cause interference. Mine is 28 inches.

Best I could find online short notice. I have mine currently on the bottom two vents best I could do especially for "illegal" areas like TN that I pass through here and there... I will be moving/aligning them better when I visit my parents next week so looking to install the 3rd head I just ordered seeing I have a tall car!

See my Kia Soul install here: www.rdforum.org: 2016 Kia Soul Install

I think 2 will be fine. No problems with Blinders HP-905s back in the day.

Thanks man! Yours is newer and the grill is a bit different as I found your post the other day and said "nope don't think it'll work on my older style Soul". But I will look at it again seeing I have some of that fancy moldable glue coming, etc. How did you attach?

Hmm.. I was told for a 3x setup it would work.

www.rdforum.org: Apx TMG had placement for a sedan
Well then good thing I have a 3rd coming! Thanks! :p

See above! :p

Good ol' 3M VHB tape. Lasted until I hit a deer.
I have a roll coming as well so aside from the two that came with it I should be good there as well just not sure how well straightening the heads will go with that stuff. I assume once its touching it has a pretty strong bond!? That moldable glue is supposed to be adjustable for a good 4 hours not that I need that much time! Thanks! :)

As long as your surfaces are clean, that stuff will hold. My TMGs are installed on my Chevy Equinox the same way. Because of how much I drive, I have a monthly car wash pass. I go at least twice a week and it is a full on brush car wash. I've been through a couple of dozen times since installing them they have not moved.

I second @bslaws I used the 3m and wash my vehicle one or twice a month with pressure washer (keeping it away from the heads). With ~800mi a normal month. I checked my system the other day and it's still in place. Rock solid, clean it and it will stick for quite some time

Sorry guys I have been busy visiting the folks in Georgia the last few days! I won't even post my half assed first attempt at mounting them but here it is after my Dad made a aluminum bracket to move it back, etc. 3rd head will be installed soon I hope but it'll probably be using that fancy tape! Of course that is assuming it won't snow/rain ice the next few days as predicted! :p

Looks good !!
Take a black sharpie or black paint pen and touch ip the silver edge.
((Place tissue paper between sensor and mount to catch runoff if using black paint pen. ))
Ask me how I know ?? . L0L.

Must be level ..

That may also BE TOO LOW !!

Recheck your measurements IMHO.

Ask in other sections of the Forum.

I'll try to do a full front pic this weekend so you can see. Sadly if I mount them any higher short of the grill area somehow they will stand out even more and I run through at least one illegal to use state sooo..... Also I figured once I mount the 3rd head it help regardless especially if I can get it a bit higher...But its level that is for sure I checked it while parked on a cement slab of a house! :D

That's going to be far too low since it looks like You're in the slots below the licence plate

Its the slots at the bottom area of the plate yes. So in theory the plate area is covered no? So like I said if I can get the 3rd head moved up somehow that will help.

Plate is covered but I'd worry about the extremities of the headlights and the side mirrors since some LEOs like to get creative

Another issue is if you crest a hill and get hit with laser, 90% of your front end will be visible to the laser before the lower heads can see and react. May not be too much an issue with a 3rd head mounted high but that's gonna require testing.

You know, it just hit me. Now that I have the brackets that my Dad made I may be able to cut the grill and mount from the outside and then go from there. Blue is the current spot and Green is the spot that I'm thinking. Of course I only have two brackets but have a roll of that 3M tape for the 3rd head. Thanks for the heads up! :)

So after seeing you options.
IMHO I would move left and right up one level closer to the headlights and leave the center green above the licence plate.
