Thank-yous to @InsipidMonkey , @nomore55 , @RadarSammich, @upallnight for their responses. I did end up running factory defaults with Ka guard off. The trip was Northwest Indiana to Indy to Cincinnati on Day 1, Cincinnati to Asheville NC on Day 2. Then provided shuttle service from Asheville--GSP.

I used V1Driver ( @mswlogo ) with Daze running on my iPhone for these trips. I had been running V1Driver for the past couple of weeks. V1Driver kept the V1 pretty quiet. I did hit a lot of the traffic/construction warning signs that tripped K band, but V1 Driver quieted them down pretty quickly. A couple of Ka hits but nothing to really write about. Marked them up in Waze if needed. Most of the hits already had customers pulled over.

My son gave me an old android phone (OnePlus One) and I loaded JBV1 on it for the trip home. I used JBV1 with no changes other than turning CSA on with a minimum Alert Range of 2 miles.

Day 5 Asheville to Fletcher NC (Sierra Nevada Brewing) to GSP to Lexington KY. Day 6 Lexington to Northwest Indiana. Again, I hit a lot of warning signs that emit K band. My V1 was noisier, but I think that was more me than JBV1 since I didn't touch any settings. (The old loose nut behind the keyboard/phone).

    First CSA Save
When I hit I-465 N (in Indianapolis), I started to get my first Police CSAs. Actually two notifications that police were on I-465. So I was being pretty vigilant about looking for cops and minding any alerts. So just as I-465N transitions to I-465W there is a sharp bend. As I approach, the laser detection goes off, so I break and tuck behind a semi-truck as I'm making the turn. Well right there, there is a ISP with his laser shooting vehicles. I was too buzy making sure I was tucking in to see, but my wife tells me the ISP Trooper was glaring at us as we went by.

    Second CSA Save
When I got close to the Lafayette Exit 172 (IN-26), I got 3 Police CSAs. There is a ISP Post by Exit 178, so I decided to ease back a bit. Traffic is usually a little heavy in that area as well. So as I am on the bridge over the Lafayette exit, I notice this black SUV getting on. I'm in the second lane from the right, and not really thinking about it. I have my iPhone running Daze on the Driver side window, and JBV1 running on the OnePlus (using the iPhone hotspot) sitting in a cup holder on the drivers side. (Thanks to @hammerdown for the setup suggestion). Both are angled towards me. The black SUV pulls next to me for about 2 minutes and then goes roaring off in the right lane. And I'm thinking, if it wasn't for the police in the area, that SUV would be a nice rabbit.

So about 10 miles up the road, my Ka band starts screaming as I come round a bend. And there is the black SUV (my potential rabbit) with a customer pulled over on the side. Headsmack!! If it wasn't for the CSAs from the JBV1, my rabbit would have turned wolf, and ate me. Ha ha.

So again thanks to everyone's suggestions and special thanks to @mswlogo / V1 Driver and @johnboy00 / JBV1. I had a great trip with zero tickets.

i pass through there alot to the elkhart area as im a transporter, looks like some laser jammers need to be installed. Probably going to go with a TMG system and RCM as the v1 is detectable. I might just keep the v1 and put it in a metal bag powered on so I can use the jbv1 app.

    Thanks for sharing!

No auto muting is enabled by default in JBV1. I prefer to let users choose what auto muting to enable, so they know why something is being muted later (assuming they read settings descriptions before changing them).

Thank you for the Indiana related post!

I’ve noticed new use of IN State Police laser on I-465 and I-69 (NE Indy) during daily commute this past month. Previously, I was getting only radar hits with MAX360c and frequent Waze spottings after sunrise and mid-late afternoon. It inspired me to install ALP (2 sensor +TX) system this past weekend.

On I-69 between Indy and Anderson, the wolves work in pairs, trios , and sometimes quad teams. Marked cruisers, unmarked and shadow marked Chargers and a couple of Challengers are frequently used. They shoot and let another car roll to stop the targets (not always the rabbit, but certainly the most noticeable seem to be targeted). Then reset going the opposite way. Nearly everyone is going 80-90 it seems - it’s sort of like shooting fish in a barrel.

Yeah. I didn't really have time to setup JBV1. It was really just an install and go. I ignored all the other settings other than the CSA because I knew I wanted that one set up. I'm really looking forward to peeling back the onion that is JBV1 over the next couple days. At least the first level. Thanks for a great product!

Assuming --> most likely an ass of me than you. LOL

Between the k band coppers right on top of BSM frequencies, and the expanded laser activities, IMO they getting rougher around here. As aggressive as reported in other draconian states. I see this every day in the middle third of Indiana. Locals are getting more brutal too. The old days of up to 11mph over with C/O stationary radar going is waning. Ever larger portion of the fewer using C/O seem to be on a non ticket mission and moving. The radar emissions setting off ER Live, and all RD in the area.

I know there is debate how many people actually use RD anymore. Well, the cops around here in Indiana think many people use RD. Their actions appear to address the RD audience. Otherwise, why laser, why k band purchases right on top of BSM frequencies, why the splattering of C/O Radar with no ticketing (get all the reports showing up on connected systems)? Who knows. I don’t. What I do know, for those coming to/through Indiana, watch out. Times are different.

I run up and down us 31 alot and noticed alot more 33.8 and even a Moto cop a couple months ago.
Even had my car searched for drugs by kokomo before the bypass opened a couple years ago.

Us transporters are easy prey for isp.

Yep.. easy prey. The ISP pickup trucks been harassing commercial on K bypass too. When I have gone by, looked like anal probes. Also, see more laser up on Kokomo bypass run by unmarked jack boot SUVs. Don’t know if local, county or ISP. Read newspaper interview, ISP using “methods” to pull over more commercial trucks (not using the transponder based TSA pre-check like system) for drugs, DUI due to “fatigue influence”, and normal stuff including tooo much monster drink, safety infractions, speeding, being overweight. I have not looked into actual admin law language, to back up the press reports that DUI has broad in the field interpretation. Influence is not just illegal drugs, or drinking. Prescription, over counter, excessive fatigue, whatever a copper says impedes your ability to drive. If charged, have to prove innocence. Not like blowing into machine (out of alignment or not) for alcohol intox.

I agree there is more 33.8 out there too. Moto cops from local, county, and ISP are getting more common.. Southside Harley had a bunch of them late summer in what looked like delivery prep. Had 117ci “police pursuit” on air cleaner (I think Stage two factory upgrade?). Blue paint, lots of chrome, with ISP logos. Looked great.

That 60 psl is too slow imo. My r3 helps me go at a reasonable pace even with a motorhome

Get that. You seen the speed traps on both sides of the Kokomo bypass? Bypass is 65psl, some will go through 70+ then hit lower psl right after bypass. LEO catches many who forget to slow down right after bypass.

I have seen marked/unmarked Chargers working 31 in Hamco in Carmel area. It seems like they are emphasizing commercial vehicle enforcement because they mostly have semis pulled over. However, you are most likely to be pulled over by Carmel (35.5 and 34.7) or Westfield (34.7) PD for speeding. Just assume that WPD will be hiding under the overpass at 161st Street @ about the 131 mile marker. Sometimes its I/O sometimes it's CO. If they are facing north they are watching southbound traffic, and if they are facing south they are watching northbound traffic. I have seen ISP running 34.7 now as well.
