Part A - Cables through Firewall
After reading through different BMW forums, this step appeared to be very straight forward. However, the guides I found were close but not exact for my actual car, so I attempted this but everywhere I tried I found electrical components or other issues. As the car is new and under warranty, I decided to have a local shop do this part, cost was only $100.00

Part B – Cable routing and Head mounting
Cables and routed towards front of car under existing grommet (only two cables needed as splitter included)

I removed the stock grills to replace with all black ones for less reflection and appearance. They are a bit of pain to remove, but once removed provides great access.

Note, left and right heads were mounted initially with provided sticky tape, and after alignment also secured with small black screws. Head wires from lower grill were pull up to top grill, connected and zip tied.

LH and RH heads mounted, next is the centre head (required for DE guns)

3D printed centre head mount by @chaukbeam was a perfect fit

However due to the odd angles of the front, I could not get the head level so I had to modify it and use the stock bracket with it

With the black theme throughout hoping it looks pretty stealth...

Part C – CPU Install and Power up
upload_2018-11-4_21-37-43.png

Power temporarily provided from lighter plug at rear of console.

CPU installed with quick access and a quick test of each head.

I will provide a permanent power supply, remount the CPU, and tweak it over time.

Your local shop was very fair to only charge $100. Did they try to talk you into letting them do the full install? And wow I really like that center mount!! Super clean. Let us know how this tests. You knocked this install outta the park

Awesome!! Ps. Are you worried at all about water penetration based on where the cable came out of the firewall? That looks a bit.... Worrying to me. Silicone is your friend!

Thanks appreciate it. Ya they sure did want to do the full install but that would take away my fun ha ha. It was tricky getting that center head back enough otherwise to easy to get knocked off in a parking lot. Anyway, look for too testing it...

I couldnt really get a good picture on where the cables came through the firewall but they should be fine.

Look forward to seeing how this install tests out. A laser install really lets you get to know how your car is put together doesn't it? Good job.

Very nice. Your M2 looks great! What material did you get your prints on? PLA, PLA+, ABS, ABS+?

With your using a front plate, I'm guessing that they must heavily enforce that where you're at? I hate that they force it. I mean, I understand complying with it so that you're not hassled, but man it stinks. The government has to ruin the good looking front ends of our cars.

Are the sensors not a little low? I thought for BWMs, the place for the right and left sensors was in the kidney grill?

Thanks. I had @chakeubeam print the 3D bracket so I dont know what he used...

Ya front plates are the law here unfortunately, and totally agree, without then so much cleaner. My friends in Alberta don't require them, maybe that is why laser is predominantly rear there, not sure...

Good question, but with the fantastic help of some senior RDF members, that was the preferred mounting with TMG and 3 heads.

Just standard PLA, were working on some other mounts with different materials but for quick ECONOMICAL turn around this works. Hell just need to paint it.

Laser in Alberta is used in every way, shape, and form.

Front shots from behind trees, overpasses, out the side of vehicle windows, they'll stop traffic or chase you down

Rear shots from overpasses, sides of the road, ditches out the back or front of trucks.

Rear shots typically = cam shots, $fine.
Front shots typically = get stopped, fined, and demerits.

Do you have anything for an Audi A4 rear install?
