Encountered my first photo radar last night that I believe was MRCD 24.134 on the R7. The detector detected it as I was just past the front of the photo radar vehicle on K band. I basically had zero warning as I was doing 60km/h. I already knew he was there, I just wanted to see how long it would take the R7 to detect and there was basically no warning until it was too late. The rear antenna picked him up the moment I passed his mirror, showed arrows to the sides and then back. The front was out to lunch. Did I do something wrong? MRCD was on and so was K band, I did not announce anything other than the K band scan after I passed him.

So I recently ordered the R7, and had to turn my Alfa Romeo in for repairs, and rented a 2019 Mazda CX-5. When I'm driving in the CX-5, the R7 gets a constant rear reading of K band either 24.123 or 24.124. I would mute/mute memory each instance (which is every 10 seconds of driving apparently). Is there anything I can do about this? When I'm in my friend's car, a Nissan Rogue, there were no false readings of K band.

Take a look at this thread. Probably something you don’t want to do as the CX-5 is only a rental for you, but unfortunately the R7 and CX-5 don’t play well together. Mute memory is useless here as that is GPS based and can only be used on stationary falses.

I have the R7 on firmware 1.24 and I have noticed it displays my speed 1 mph faster than both my truck speedometer and my phone's GPS. Has anyone else noticed this?

The speed on our units is not going to be as accurate as a phone, let alone a speedometer. It essentially uses information on where you were and where you are to make a best guess at how fast you are going. While phones also do this, they have much more sophisticated software behind them for their calculations. Some discrepancies are expected, though they should be pretty minimal.

I see. It's just a little annoying when the R7 is alerting me that I'm over the speed limit when driving near speed cameras when I'm not. Maybe add an option to offset the speed?

Hi just wondering if there is going to be another firmware update for the DFR7. I notice that the New Zealand version (DFR7NZ) allows for K band segmentation - is this going to be a feature for the US D

Unfortunately, I do not know anything about plans for firmware to add segmentation to the DFR7 at this time, and I will have to look into it.

Main difference is that the NZ/AU Firmware has K- band segments (2 segments) and can scan as low as 23.950 to cover redflex cameras.

US firmware doesn’t have K band segments and can only scan as low as 24.050.

Please note this does not apply to the R series, only the DFR AND LRD series.
