Yesterday I purchased a Cobra ESR 755 at Walmart. This afternoon I returned it. It was well made and had a lot of nice options. But the volume was too low. It listed 1 through 10. But it wouldn't turn up loud enough. If I had the radio on or the window rolled down, I may have missed an alert. Yes, I am disappointed. Purchased a Uniden DFR-1 and I can hear it just fine.

Uniden will outperform Cobra by far any day...although realistically you really want to look for a detector starting about the $200 range at least for adequate long range protection and with good filtering for blind spot and collision avoidance from other vehicles.

Aren't they the same company though. I was thinking that Uniden made Cobra and President CB radio years ago. But that was years ago.

No I don't think so - you may be thinking of Escort and Cobra.

Uniden does manufacture some Cobra CB equipment (or at least the boards in them) but not the radar detectors.
