Today's email from Fry's revealed what appears to be an R3 for $299!
Unfortunately, it also appears to be in store only.
Promo code is: 3370907.

That is a good deal. Like someone else mentioned, no Fry's in my area. I bought mine last week at my local BestBuy for the 399 price. I'm not complaining, however, as imho it is definitely worth the $.

Too late they are all sold out already. Didn't let me use the promo code for online purchase for some reason. I wonder if best buy would price match it?

My gut tells me Uniden will be announcing something big soon.

.
My very first thought, the 'new' R4 with directional arrows must be on the way! Just wishful thinking but a model name R4 with their first arrows would be a good model number.

The timing of the $100 off with respect the calendar date for SEMA... . At $100 off either Fry's really wants to move these units quickly since they know something from their Uniden sales rep or else Uniden is giving them an incentive to move them quickly.

I've been saying that for a while with the woot and other sales. Maybe just some year end inventory clear out...

Woot and other sales were just unauthorized sales where companies that bought large quantities and did not have patience and sell them normally and overtime. They probably bought on Net 30 terms and when bill was due put them on sale to raise funds to pay their bill. Bad choice if they want future business with Uniden because it's a violation of the Authorized Dealer agreement.

At any given time we have between 400 and 1000 R3's in stock and we move through them with no sales but we have the capital to sit on inventory without worrying about paying our bills on time.

Unless a $400 does not sell that well to a typical off the electronics street consumer. Chances are they are not educated to what is a good detector and buy a lower cost model.

Yeah Uniden's not happy about this at all and I wouldn't expect Frys to continue selling their detectors since they've been violating the MAP like this...

You sure (BUUUMP ON THIS) thats an R3 and NOT an R1 @HeartDoctor since subsequent ads appear to say that its an R1 and NOT an R3. (as of 11/16/2018 anyway)

@sdrawkcab MY gut is telling me that the Fry's deal is an R1 and NOT an R3??

All of the ads I've seen clearly picture an R3 (mark button) and state GPS in the product description. Have you seen a different ad?

Since they don't explicitly state the manufacturer or model, it appears they are trying to skate the MAP agreement.
