There is so much that can still be done with the ALP integration and I hope in the future they can add the following which will help with troubleshooting:

1. Display ALP Firmware Version
2. Display Connected Sensors
3. Display Gun ID's

The Factory Reset and Kill with any button is a nice addition to the integration.

The best part is the ALP factory reset. How is it done tho?

Good post BDR. That’s why I had to add the LED as a work around.

There’s an option in the RC-M menu. It’s listed as Default. It’s after the jammer time out setting.

Thanks.
I haven’t updated yet so I didn’t know. Once I update I will see it I guess.

I noticed you removed the selection of Jammers. Before we had ALP and FF. Now it just says Jammer On/Off.

since the fw i seem to be getting ka falses, never had them before, signal strength is 1 all the time, always ran ka wide no filter no problem, now been getting them all day, narrow band is of no use in OZ, so question if i try to isolate some ka bands using narrow eg the first 3 that not used here, will the RC-M still sense the others 34.9 and 35.1, or any suggestions i can try thx

You need to run KA filter. This has been like this since the dawn of day. Around 40,000km later of running with the RCM, I've had 0 falses with KA filter on high, and enough range to make me spend 30 minutes in some cases trying to figure out where I was hit with KA (it's something I insist on doing when I'm bored) :D

This most recent FW allowed me to run from one end of Ontario to (almost) the other yesterday with 0 K falses too. :D

Quick question,

I just installed the new ALP CPU replacement I got since my old one was defective.

How do I confirm the Factory reset on the RCM? I place it on Factory Reset and then press 3rd button to save all settings?
When Factory Reset is displayed, I press Up, Down or second button (submenu) and nothing happens.

Well. Make sure you turn the jammer option on. After the time out setting for the jammers, it’ll say Jammer default.

The RC-M factory reset is at the end.

The new FW should read HUB 12 and DISP 12.

Because of the courtesy options like puddle light, able to roll your windows up after removing the key, I alway leave the drivers door open and load the FW twice in both my ALP and RC-M.

I have 2 separate cords run into my glove box and labeled which was which.

Well. Make sure you turn the jammer option on. After the time out setting for the jammers, it’ll say Jammer default.
I know, but once I reach Jammer Default how do I tell it to execute it?!
Example. When you go to the Jammer option, you have On or Off option and you can toggle trough On and Off by pressing the up/down button right?
How do you execute the Jammer Default setting? I press Up/Down/Submenu(second button) and it didn't do anything.

I did it once before. I think you hold down the middle button like a lock out?

That is to turn Jammers On and Off hehe.
The question is how to factory reset the ALP with RCM.
Once you go trough the setting and you arrive to Jammer Factory Reset, it doesn’t execute anything. Pressing Up/down/lockout doesn’t do anything. If I press volume button(3rd button) it will just save setting. If you press power button it will cycle to the next setting.

I need to try holding the middle button (lockout)

I updated my firmware today, and as luck would have it I ran into both K and Ka on a subsequent drive.

I hate to say it, but I actually prefer the old tones for K and Ka. I like that the volume is the same now, and it's probably just that I'm used to the old tones and I'll get used to the changed ones, and it's not a big deal to be sure, but...... :(

On the other hand, after the update I went through my settings to make sure everything was the same as it was before the update (it was). I was thinking about the post from @angrypenguin about how he had no Ka falses and thought about how I had a few over the past few weeks (nothing annoying, but the number was greater than zero), and I found out that I had been running with the Ka filter completely off. Even with it off I only got a few falses, and it wasn't enough to bother me.

I love this detector!
