At SEMA, I'm going to have a chance to interview some of Escort's management including both their CEO and their CTO. Their CEO is new, but I don't remember about their CTO off the top of my head.

If you guys could ask them something, what would you like to know? My last interview was focused on products. I think this one will be focused more on the company and the management.

I'm curious mainly about the future of the company, the direction of their products, and what their new CEO has in store for leading the company. New vision? Some things the same as before? Escort's financials are not looking too hot these days as we've discussed on the forum. I'm not sure how much they'd want to talk about publicly, but this would be an opportunity to ask them about it, should they be open to it.

After the last interview and seeing some issues like AutoJTK still not being implemented, not to mention they way they've been addressing the lockup bugs on their forums, I'm feeling more and more like it was mostly talk and I'm left feeling pretty disappointed. I get that that stuff takes time to be developed, tested, and eventually released, but what little I've been seeing so far doesn't leave me feeling super hopeful. I've let them know this already and it's in the back of my mind now, going into this interview, but hopefully new management will be something good for Escort and for us. Like last time though, ultimately actions will speak louder than words.

Nevertheless, in the meantime, what would you guys like to know that I can ask for you?

We all admire you for your efforts, but the CEO will give an even bigger dose of hot air than those you met in Ohio.

That's my guess too, that I'll hear about how he's going to change things and things are going to get so much better. It'd be nice to hear some specifics though. I'll be there anyways, floating around for a few days to check out all the booths and talk to everyone so it's not like I'm going out of my way this time around so since the opportunity is there, I might as well take advantage of it and see what happens, you know?

Ask them if they have any plans to revert production of units back to NA after Trump tariffs reach 28% in January.

I believe they moved to China, correct? Not Taiwan or Korea...

In the last interview you did, they talked about themselves being a technology company with lots of big data -- aggregating all the Escort Live alerts and doing BSM filtering development so as to only offer Live Alerts for "valid" hits.

Ask them if they expect Escort Live to be the premier platform for real time alerts, will they ever actually redesign the interface, improve it, and or engage with the community on ways to do the above? The iOS version feels like it is still fixed resolution to fit the old iPhone 5. Extra unused black screen space at the top and bottom.

They honestly run the service like junk. It runs on 1 or 2 hardcoded AWS machines, if it goes down, we have to wait until Monday for them to bring it back up, it is just infuriating.

Chuck Norris doesn't need a radar detector, no cop can stop Chuck Norris.
My Max 360 falses all the time to old ladies using walkers in front of almost every Texas Roadhouse. It beeps and says "Walker, Texas Ranger!"

Maybe you could ask why they seem out of touch with there customers and don't seem interested in constructive criticism at all? I'm sure you can think of some nice way to candy coat that question.....LOL . Also, I'd harp on auto JTK again and make sure they understand how important it is, even from their business perspective.

Philippians is in the New Testament
That's where chuck Norriss radar detector is made.

No way man! The Chuck Norris detector would definitely be Old Testament, fire and brimstone kind of stuff.

How are they planning on staying up to date against the competition, as well as address concerns/issues (for example against ALP as they're the best when it comes to jammers)?

With testing being done, and the fact that a lot of us found out about this website and your videos on youtube thru basic search and inquisitiveness for data when we were in the market for a solid radar detector or jammer for our own vehicles, there is no way to really hide behind blanketed statements of "we're better than the competition" as there is verifiable testing now.

I think in general, everyone is looking to make decisions with transparency when we're putting down such a large chunk of our hard earned $$$ for a detector or jammer.

The company from your previous interview seems very - for lack of a better term, "old boys club". Hopefully the new blood will change things for the better.

If any product questions do come up, I'm sure a lot of iX owners would like to know what are Escort's plans with respect to fixing the issue that the iX's Defender Database cannot be updated without first formatting the RD, which causes users to have to choose to either have an updated Database or retain their AutoLearned /Manual Lockouts & Marks, but not both. This is still an issue after 1 1/4 years.
