I hope the next firmware update will allow for the over speed alert to be shut off, that was really annoying.
Which overspeed warning are you talking about? When passing a speed camera?

Sound #6.
Please modify the request to include muting of Mute Mode locked out signals, because even with QR turned off I get random beep warnings when entering a locked out zone.
An all quiet option during both QR and MM encounters please.

Did Uniden forget they sell the R3/R1?

I appreciate all the updates and attention to the R7, but what am I supposed to do with this other $300+ paperweight (after it get warranty worked).

Why is it a paperweight? It has very similar performance to the R7, and a great detector, one of the best available today. If you really don't want it anymore, there are many here or other buyers that would be interested in taking it off your hands...

When it gets back from Uniden I might (probably).

Just saying, very little attention given since 1.48 came out, and even then the general consensus around the forum was to roll back to 1.37. And my R1 performed nowhere near the R7 I have, I actually made a few lousy posts about it (which I realize now I shouldn't have and just sent it in for warranty all along).

Not sure of your testing, terrain, setup or guns, R3 settings, but there are multiple examples from experienced RDF testers that show it is very similar in performance.

Yep, that's what bothered me about my R1. Everything I was reading and feeling told me something was wrong. Again, I should have called Uniden instead of just complaining. BUT I did want to be wrong, first.

Southeast to northwest Ohio, Western MD, Western/Central half of WV down to the bottom half, up to the northern tip, and occasionally over to the panhandle and the mountains. Not sure how challenging that terrain is considered. It is sure fun to drive, though.

in agreement regarding lack of attention paid to the others since the R7 came out.
It'd be nice if a more solid firmware rolled out combining the best of both 1.37 and 1.48, so that there is less to worry about. After all an "update" is supposed to be better, but we all know thats how that works sometimes.
Still being patient.

Ditto on this post! As an R3 owner, feels like the child who is forgotten about when parents have their new baby.

In Vortex's latest video, he stated that he is guessing Uniden is focusing on ironing out all the bugs on the R7 and making sure features such as the K block is working as intended before rolling out to the R3 - he says it 1:42 into the video.

There aren’t really any bugs that I’m aware of in firmware 1.48. You can make improvements and enhancements in future updates but nothing I don’t think needs to be fixed.

My R1 is a solid performer on range. That said I would like the Honda block option. If I had that I would run K probably at 100% .

I'm in agreement with you on this because my R3 never crashes and it behaves the same every time it's turned on. But that doesn't mean I'm happy with 1.48.

fw 1.48 isn't buggy, but it feels like a step backwards from 1.37 because I get way more BSM alerts. In addition, MRCD implementation is awful. Sure, it picks up MRCD now, but it's almost always as you're entering or just entered the kill zone. There's no advance warning.

IMO, Uniden needs to figure out a way to reduce BSM alerts and increase MRCD range, which is probably something really hard to do with the limited processing power of the hardware. But I have no doubts they can make it better. If nothing else, they could add K Block or change the K Narrow range to get rid of those BSM alerts from Honda and Acura. You would not believe how much quieter my R7 has gotten since K Block started working with the latest firmware.

I think what is annoying most of us R3 users is that we're generally happy with the current Firmware with the exception of not yet having the K-Block or at very least lowering the high point of K-Narrow. This could be the only change to the next firmware and you shut most of us up. The BSM's in the K-Block range are quite simply brutal. As mentioned in the above post, the K-Block on the R7 makes the world of difference.

This appears to be a very simple fix that can be changed in minimal time. The R7 is a great piece of equipment but purely from a price point I don't ever see it out selling the R3.

The choice of regressing to 1.37 is not an option, there were many many more things than just MRCD added in the latest iteration that I would not give up.

I'm hoping to see improvements in some areas the OP has listed.
Minor things like option to totally mute QR and MM warning beeps for true muting of those signals.
Increase lockout radius option.
MRCD improvements and K block are high on the wants as well.

Yes the BSM is huge, for me, I live in PA, for now only the state police can run RADAR and that RADAR is mainly K, I get so many K BSM hits I'm getting deaf to the sound of the detector. I'm afraid I'll miss a real hit because there are so many falses. At the very least we need segmentation on K.

In my opinion the worst thing Uniden did was add MRCD to the R1/3. It simply doesn’t have the hardware to get the job done at full capacity. It took away focus from BSM, etc...

With the above being said, it’s would be unrealistic to put out a new firmware without MRCD. That would be a take back. I would like to see the 24.196 notch filter added to the R1/3. Until then, 1.37 for my R3 which is now my spare.

yup or auto-mute or auto low volume for 24.200+/- 0.02 or whatever, if segmentation isn't an option in case some people have true threats at that frequency.
