For some reason Waze’s logic when driving on 180 WB from Vacaville never gives me the option of the San Mateo Bridge. Either direct across the bay bridge to SFO, or all the way down to the Dumbarton. Anyone know of a way to force WAZE into other routing? Thanks.

Probably because the traffic through 880 Oakland, San Leandro, and Hayward (the Nimitz) is still worse and longer then Bay Bridge to 101. Waze shows the three fastest route in the “Routes and HOV” option.

There are a lot of options to SFO from Solano county.
680, 24, 80, 101
680, 580, 238, 880, 92, 101
80, 101
80, 880, 92, 101
80, 280, 380, 101
And a ton of shortcuts also.

Do you use the routes option? After you put in your destination there is a “Routes & HOV” option. You can also access “Routes & HOV”. By tapping the time on the bottom of the screen.

Make sure your routing is set to “fastest route” and not “shortest route” or you can try both options and see if either helps.

Yeah I’ve tried those. My car will give me the option and shows me a comparison on all three routes. Waze has a difficult time accounting for construction and ATT stadium. One’s not an issue for now. Thanks Fitz.

I generally stick to Waze for the reports but I don’t like the fact it will create a lot of extra work (backroads) to save a measly 3 minutes. When I’m in an unfamiliar area I’ll often use Google or Apple maps and just stay within 10 MPH of the PSL.

What is strange is sometimes it will make you work for every minute and other times it will take you the long way.

I’ll often drive routes that I know is faster then what Waze recommends. What irks me is when I have Waze on and I just go my way, Waze will reroute to my way and show a shorter time then its own original route. I once read that they deliberately do that to thin the heard even if there is a slight penalty for some.

It is always a debate when WAZE tells me to go one way and my cars GPS tells me another. I’ve found lately that when I land late in SFO, I check out cal trans website for construction and include that on my decision to stay on 80 or duck over to 24 to 680. WAZE does a poor job of calculating what construction will do to traffic. Going home from SFO, I got caught in two lanes of the Carquinez bridge shut down and down to 1 lane through Vallejo.
