Here are several K-band encounters that I have had with my new CR97. The first one was about .8 of a mile on rolling terrain. I had just turned on this road from a side street, and the CR97 started alerting soon after. The second one was about .6 of a mile on rolling terrain with curves. I was pleased with both encounters as both would have allowed plenty of time to slow down to the PSL. On the second video, the Honda Pilot that passes me is a base model with no blind spot monitoring system. (My CR97 gives Ka band warnings to Honda/Acura BSMs and not K-band). Both officers were using constant on K-band. The CR97 changed from K-band to Ka-band once the officer was in sight on the second video. I passed him the other direction, and it was K-band all the way. I just think the CR97 was confused at the last minute on the second video. I am not sure if the videos will upload. I am still trying to figure out how to upload videos. I have much more experience with radar detectors than I do with dash cams, editing, and uploading videos...lol.

Great videos! I can't wait till one of us gets some good 34.7 or 35.5 on video!

Looks good. Seems like the detector was overwhelmed by the strong signal in the second video.

For your first couple vid's your doing great! Nice detection in the first vid. Seems like a solid detection for a Whistler, but it's so hard to tell in the video. It looked like you were doing a PSL of about 40 or 45, so it's hard to judge by time too.
Just some friendly advice, you should set up a youtube account. This way you can post your vid there, then copy and paste it into your thread here. That will serve a couple of purposes. After you upload it to youtube, you don't have to leave it on your PC. Which is no big deal if you only do a few, but if your anything like me your going to be pulling footage off the DC all the time! Lol. Once you upload it you can just delete it off your PC if you don't want it hogging up valuable space. If you don't want to share your vid's with the whole world, you can try Vimeo which will give you PW protection for you vid's. Just a thought. But keep'em coming! I'd like to see some Ka footage. I know @Kennyc56 is going to upload some too. I want to see what kind of Horsepower this thing has!

@Driver66, did you see the video that @Bossdad71 got wth his CR97? One of them was killer! I think it was 34.7. It was a several mile alert! Veil guy also got one from at least 6 miles away on his review! I know what everyone thinks of him, and it was on a flat straight road, but damn that was one hell of an alert!

My CR97 came in yesterday and it's been great. There's a lot of K-band pollution on my work route (I-295 in Maine) but it seems to distinguish the sensors and always-on K just fine. It picked up an undercover on a ramp this morning well in advance. I also noticed it picks up "pulse" from the traffic warning lights as well as construction vehicles (those big arrow signs).

Once I see some troopers I'll try to pull dashcam video. As it always goes, you never see them if you're actually looking!

    Welcome to RDF @Nathan C!

Those K band traffic sensors on 295 are really annoying. Are you saying the CR97 is able to filter them? If so, that's great!

What does it report the traffic warning lights and construction vehicles as?

Was the undercover running K or Ka?

Looking forward to some dashcam videos!

Thanks! It does beep twice then go silent so it's doing some "quiet mode" filtering. If I up the K band filter it might make more a difference, but I'll experiment with the settings.

Traffic warning lights and vehicles report as "PULSE" on the detector with a beeping noise until I pass by it, but it's relatively short range.

Undercover (more like unmarked since it had state plates) appeared to be running K and I got a strong (6/9) signal before I saw him. He was moving onto the highway from the ramp...big ol' suburban, but definitely police due to municipal plates and window lightbar. It differed from the normal K garbage since it had an actual strength meter rather than cycling through frequencies like it did reporting the sensors.

Still getting to know the detector but it's been great. Now to figure out how to silence the GPS directional voice...it'll say "North" if the GPS changes to north and so forth. Why would that ever be useful?!

You can go into settings to silence the GPS voice. I had to turn that off as I didn’t see any value in it.
