What does it take to get someone to slow down to save their butts? On I-10 MM 252 west bound wooded area by myself, the V1 showed a FL Trooper with CO checking the west bound. I slowed to 70, but 2 fly by nights were roaring toward their demise behind me. I hit my brake lights 3 times at a total of 9 warning taps, flashing the aggressive drivers. Did they slow? Not that I could tell. The first went by me as we met the sitting radar, and the second one slowed beside me while the Cat pulled out. Both tried to hide in the slow lane. The front man got lit up a mile down the interstate. Cats like to play with their catch....... I always try to save others but it is fun to watch them get trapped due to their on stupid decision to ignore a free warning.

Can't tell you the number of folks I have tried to save that are oblivious to any form of help.... sometimes they simply don't understand Until the lights come on, then they realize what it was you were trying to say. I had one guy giving me the finger for slowing down and flashing by break lightsas Waze , the R1 and ALP were all telling me there was a trap ahead, he ripped past me in a passing zone right into said laser trap at +25PSL. (Instant pull over) I gave him the I tried look with a polite wave as I rolled by laughing... I have saved a few folks successfully so I usually try, most folks just haven't learned to pay attention, everyone is too busy nose in their phone to notice the signs ahead that there is a speed trap.

I know exactly the spot you're referencing too. They're out there in force all the time. One of few places on 10 that I see FHP and local yokels on the interstate together in close proximity. There's unmarked Madison Co Sherrif SUV that sits at MM255 a lot doing speed enforcement as a fishing trip for drug interdiction

With the mile long flat straight-a-way, a mid way cross over between east and west bound hid by woods, the Leo was backed up in a great spot for I/O or Lidar but chose C/O. The radar was seeing traffic long before the Leo could see anyone thru the leaves giving him a heads up on what to expect only giving the speeder a 5 second view of the Cat while he picks out the guilty one when they pop into view.

I don't bother trying to save anyone really. I will give opposite lane traffic a flash of the high beams when appropriate though. I figure that if they aren't smart enough to invest some decent CM equipment or even Waze they aren't smart enough to have any situational awareness.

You can't ''save'' people against their will ...many have pink tunnel vision till the cat grab them ...

reality check :pullover:.

What sadden me is to see poor people with old rusted car getting caught ...i know they will skip
an essential items to pay their ticket ...

Happens to me often too. But, having experienced enough drivers that get angry and flash, yell, shake their fist, and flip me off for merely passing them, oftentimes doing less than 5-10 over the speed limit, they are probably thinking you are just another person angry that you were passed.
