I only had one local running an upper K frequency 24.196.....now I have a second....this one is 24.200. As you know that is pretty much the main BSM false. This is going to going to be good.

There are a few locals around here running high K band guns too. I believe they are low-powered Stalker Patrols, running at 24.198 and 24.201!
www.rdforum.org: NJ - Confirmed 24.201 Encounter Piscataway PD
I run into them every few months, and have seen a second one in a SUV as well.

Easy to mistake for an Acura/CR-V false at first, but the linear ramp-up and steady frequency should clue you in that something's up.

I had an encounter with at 24.196 in a rural county, since then I always switch my R3 to K wide whenever I go out of the city.

Well this is just GREAT........................... I was waiting for LEo gun mfgs to begin utilizing the BSM bands---- that could play havoc with REAL BSM systems. Probably just a matter of time.

They react to new revenue potential much more quickly than they did 10+ years ago.

LEOs have used K band since before BSM systems were invented. If you're talking about the guns lining up with common Acura/Honda falses, I think it's much more likely to be random chance than any sort of coordinated effort by LEOs to be sneaky.

For low powered, linearly polarized K band guns, I'm not even sure how they would go about tuning them. I think the frequency in that case is just a function of voltage being applied to the oscillator. I think I'll test this out at some point with my Falcon HR.

Well I'm going back to K Wide on my R3 just in case. I heard the Stalker patrol seems to be gaining some sales around my neck of the woods.

How about Reflex NK7 doppler radar running up to 24.325? That's our spec for them.

Several of the local's run K band around Baton Rouge. The BSM's are an aggravation, but I tolerate them because of the local PD & sheriff's depts. It must a pretty nice revnue stream for them.

Well they do have moles that browse the forums, when they see people yapping about what frequencies are troubles, that what they'll set the guns too. Intel gathering, its a cat and mouse game until radar detectors are completely banned in the states.

Luckily, LEOs have no ability to tune the frequencies of their radar guns. That's something left to the FCC-certified technicians who are responsible for their periodic calibration.

Your way overthinking this. K band has been around for about 40 years now. Radar gun company's could care less about BSM false signals and what frequencies they are on.

Dude please. Don't make rediculous claims like this. There are new forum members that don't know any better that might actually believe you.

It is not such a far-fetched idea. Companies keep upping their game to defeat 'sensors', why not detectors? Do I think it would be a higher level exec, doubt it, more so a very ambitious employee trying to work his way up presenting ideas to improve the product and help market it to the leo community.
