@thebravo Thats so funny, thanks for sharing that one lol!

Off topic, but kinda relevant. In the mid 1990's I was running CB ch 19 and spotted a city cop near Indianapolis, IN in a Ford Bronco sitting on an a bridge/hill embankment clocking northbound traffic and called it out on the CB to warn "Bear on the North bound side, parked on the grassy embankment taking photos". The city cop actually replied back to me on CH 19 and said "Im not that dangerous, I give you all 10 mph over the limit before I nab you". I was like "holy crap!" I answered him back and said well thanks for the leeway but everyone is doing 70+ in the 55mph zone. He said just said "well its your choice". Me and the wife just LOL.
I had something similar happen!

When I was in school to be trained to be a mechanic, I was in a heavily modded VW Golf, just like mine except it was from 2003 and had a boosted VR6 swap that made ~400hp to the wheels. Well, we were doing around 90 in a 35, around turns and everything, I **** you not I was ****ting myself the entire time.

Well, we come to a stoplight and out of nowhere a cop comes up behind us and we pull over immediately, we never even saw him or his lights until we were at the light for a good 30 seconds. So immediately we hear, "TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND PUT THE KEYS ON THE ROOF!"

ohshit mode kicks in real fast and we obeyed very quickly. Well. the cop comes up to the window and says, "Why didn't you stop!?" We explain we never even saw him, and had no idea he was behind us. So he asks us how fast we were going and we answered, "We're not sure, but about 60?" Cause 60 is better than 90. Welp, he tells us we're on the dot, he got us at 60. So what actually happened is we accelerated so fast to the point that by the time he got out and got his lights on, we were already nearly a half mile down the road and gaining speed. Remember how I said I was ****ting myself around turns? We were behind trees by the time he got out, no time to see him.

Oh, and to make things so much better we had two more cars from the PD pull up rapidly because apparently he radioed for backup because he thought we were running. LOVELY. Well, after this you're all probably thinking, "You guys are ****ed." Welp, 20 minutes later cop comes up to the window and I swear on my ****ing entire family's life that I am not making this up, and says, "Alright, I'm gonna be the coolest cop ever." and hands us an exhaust ticket for the loudest exhaust, no speeding ticket, no going to jail, nothing.

HOLY **** we got so ****ing lucky I swear that guy deserves ALL the 6 packs I could ever buy him he was a really cool dude. Also, at that speed plus what we were doing AND all of the highly illegal mods he could've towed the car plus arrested the driver, I still can't believe it to this day,

On another note: I SEE YOU VORTEX, HI DADDY

@jazzie366 , cool story , this type of leo does more for road safety than the harshest fines...but so few indulgent/comprehensive cops.

I know Waze is public and everything, so you were communicating with a LEO while he was running a speed trap?? Just be careful when talking with your cop friend who will give you a ticket without thinking twice about it.
