I thought I'd share this for anyone who's interested. Got this in my email yesterday. From the looks of it, it appears they are setup to start taking orders for the new all fiber parking sensor system.

This is really ice for those in banned areas as they are super small. though they are hard to get aligned correctly for proper performance... then of course there is the price tag, and the lack of support/updates... I do wish ALP could to a fully separate receive and transmit sensor set (they are half way there with the TX sensor) as they would be smaller and could be located in more places allowing more ideal install... that said you have to be careful with systems like this to make sure you don't get reflections or receivers that can see the transmitters...

Completely separate pieces would sure be neat. I have often found myself thinking it would be pretty cool if you could use one manufacturers CPU with another manufacturers heads if they had the same power specifications and latency etc. I'm sure other things figure in to that too but a guy can dream can't he?

I’m seeing $990 for the base system which includes a TX/RX pair and then an additional $700 for each TX/RX pair. And they recommend 3 TX/RX pairs so that comes out to $2390 just for front protection? Am I reading this wrong?!?!

I would stay far away till some sole test it and it fails like the other times!!! Dont waste your money---ALP is the future!

I wonder if RALTEC folks will be doing any testing on this, like old desert shootout.

Awfully expensive for an untested product. I idea is extremely exciting but so is space travel at the speed of light. I won’t trust it until lots of independent testing happens. Still though I’m sure some of these high-end shops will sell them and install them without even caring about testing.

I’m glad I never pulled the trigger on Stinger’s first time around.

I think I’ll wait and see again — I have no desire to be their beta tester, with slow/no support, at that price point.

If they want to charge a “premium”, 1) it better work, and 2) they better provide “premium” customer service.

Well my doctor told me to get more fiber but instead of this suddenly useless system I chose FIOS.

I mean how many times can someone disappoint you before you call it quits?!

I like the idea of the fiber technology *if it works*. But I only like the idea if it works AND was in the hands of ALP. Yeah, I know. I'll keep dreaming.

@BestRadarDetectors looked into fiber cables awhile back.................dismissed using them due to ~ 30% loss of signal IIRC
