If you're in the Seattle area, I'm gonna be giving a talk in a few days (Tues, Sept 25th) at a car club meetup. They invited me to come speak about RD's so I'm gonna bring a bunch of gear and basically just chat CM's with people. If you're in the area, come hang out!

Hey Vortex will there be any video? Would be curious to hear some of the questions you might get...

I thought about it. I could bring a camera or two. One of the tough parts would be recording audio. I may just do a mic on myself and repeat the question for the camera.

Edit: The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a good idea. I'll bring some gear and get there ahead of time to get it on video. :)

Generally a good idea when addressing an audience anyway :)

Cool, ya just audio would be good also...I was just thinking anyone on RDF is a keener on this stuff, but this is a different setting and what would their level of knowledge on counter measures be etc...

I might be able to make it. Nobody else in the group knows I'm a countermeasure nut though lol.

Nice! I'd consider attending but I have a conflict. Going into Seattle on a weeknight is tough anyway. :)

Anybody get to visit with @Vortex today at the Avants meetup? I was hoping to work in Seattle this week but got stuck in Spokane.

Nope. I was planning to go, but slept so poorly last night that I left work a little earlier than usual and hopped in bed when I got home. Driving into Seattle when I'm that tired didn't sound like a good idea either.

That was fun! We had like 40 people there all crammed into the space. They all had lots of great questions about everything and then we went out and shot some radar and laser. One guy had ALP’s front and rear so people had a chance to shoot normal cars and his to see how jammers work. JTG/JFG the whole time as expected. Thank goodness he had good jammers. It would have been kinda awkward if the jammers didn’t work, haha.

but yeah, great crowd of people. The feedback afterwards was really good and so we’re talking about doing more events like this.

I won’t have any good video from the event unfortunately though. I’d set up two cameras, but he space was tight and everyone came up pretty close and blocked the camera’s view, but oh well. It was fun either way. :)

    That’s pretty awesome.

Not to stroke your ego or anything, but they probably couldn’t of had anyone better for their seminar.

I’m sure it won’t belong before we get a chance to meet some of them here ourselves.

Won’t belong before you’ll be speaking at SEMA. Lol.

    Good job Vortex.

I'm with Heywood. I'm glad they didn't pick a typical run of the mill CM user with a vague knowledge of things, they picked the best who would have given them the best knowledge and answers possible.

40 people is a good meet up! If they were crowding you it means all of them were throughly interested and I'm sure the questions were great. Do you still plan on making a video with their Q&A's?

I'm looking at the videos now and unfortunately the camera angle kind of sucks. It's pretty much just the backs of everyone so it wouldn't make for a very good video... The questions were really good though. We covered the basics of radar and laser, what's the best RD/LJ/dashcam, and they even asked some more advanced stuff like why certain RD's should be mounted 90 degrees and stuff like that. It was great having a knowledgable crowd of people there. If you're active on RDF, you'll already be familiar with pretty much everything we covered though so even without the video, you should be alright. :)
