Was making a fairly regular commute this morning on US 441 between Athens and Madison, crested a hill to find Morgan Co. Sheriff using K Band (24.125). I haven't seen a legitimate K signal anywhere near Madison since I got into RD's. I was amazed the first time I picked up laser there, as it's a pretty small town, although there is a lot of thru traffic during football season. Luckily someone had marked him on Waze, so I actually payed attention to the R3 when it came up. No longer ignoring those K alerts...

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

Just as a general follow-up, it's very common now around Athens and Madison. I've encountered Sheriffs, local PD, and GSP using K band.

I see k band on the Georgia state roads all the time. Last one I came across 2 weeks ago was on highway 78 out in Walton county near Monroe GA.

For a while there I was only seeing Ka around Madison and along 441, that and Lidar on very rare occasions. Over the last couple months it seems everyone is getting more clever. It's certainly a huge revenue source with the UGA football traffic back and forth. A couple weeks back I had a Prolaser III encounter in the absolute middle of nowhere between Lawrenceville and Madison from GSP (my first ALP hit). Keeps things interesting at least.

Almost all country roads in Northeast Georgia scream K band. Barrow County also runs low powered K on 316. Athens Clarke PD only runs Kustom Signal 35.5.

Gilmer and Pickens County are using K Band. And it is almost always 24.050 GHz and 24.150 GHz from the County Sheriff's I have interfaced with (moving and stationary).

Speaking of specific Frequencies, does knowing the most common used ones by the areas one drives through help any on BSM/K band filtering when using JBV1 @johnboy00 ?

Beep for a Northwest hit yesterday. I think the cruiser said Floyd county on it. If I recall it was 24.130 and only realized it was real when it had a slow ramp up in city mode on I believe it was route 53. I visit for a few days and my R1 gets a workout already!
