I agree law enforcement needs to be from ticket issuing androids (printers built into their body) who are equipped with various artillery such as grenades, throwing knives, a stun gun, machine gun, and an rpg launcher.

face scanning for crooks like ALPR, warrant arrests and on-site court hearings (total justice, no court system).

i wonder what justice would look like? racially? police brutality? would the prison population change? more white collar crooks? i bet the world would look very different if there was truly blind justice.

FYI we are very close to achieving consciousness if we haven’t in fact already with AI

Ive read articles about AI’s inventing their own language to communicate with each other so humans dont understand.

Machines wont have discretion though... the human side of things that can show empathy... thats needed. Who wants mindless machines making enforcement and / or life and death decisions?

Not all cops are psychos with guns and badges. Its less than 1%. You just only hear about that 1%. ;)

I give it the same rationale is when someone does a mass shooting and folks look at gun owners like myself as all psychos.... Reality could not be further from the truth, and It's not really giving the other Leo's that are out there doing their job honestly a fair shake....

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

Edit: This dude may not even have had a gun and badge... he was in intel.... Doesn't sound like he was a field agent....

"Juan David Ortiz, 35, an intel supervisor for the Border Patrol.."

Self-driving cars anyone?

Yep. Same thing with terrorism too, which you are statistically less likely to die from than from being struck by lightning, choking on food, or being in a fatal automobile crash.

Reality could not be further from the truth, and It's not really giving the other Leo's that are out there doing their job honestly a fair shake....
Sure. As long as you exclude the d-bag LEO who gave me a speeding ticket for doing 85/65 on a perfectly straight and nearly empty road with no traffic on a clear and sunny day (and all of those like him).

Oh the joys of being old and not being around to have to deal with this AI crap. Dont care for self driving cars either. Producing machines and robots to replace humans in the work place is probably one of the dumbest ideas next to outsourcing all our jobs to India that I can remember. WTF are we going to do when most of the population is out of work replaced by a machine. Sorry to rant off topic but this robot AI crap gets my blood pressure up. Luckily I won’t be around to see the full impact.

So your argument is that cop is part of the 1% because you gotta ticket?

Hmmm... that's interesting. Does California law state that you can speed if the road is straight, empty, and It's a clear and Sunny day?

You're doing +20psl and hes the douchebag because you gotta ticket?

I'm trying to figure out where in this hes being crooked or dishonest?

You were violating the law weren't you? He was just doing his job. I would never expect to be let off for that high of speed.

See that's the difference between me and you. you have an issue with the cops that are out there doing their job, I have an issue with the law itself, If I get popped violating the law i disagree with, I don't take it personally.

If the cop didn't enforce the law when he saw you breaking it then actually wouldn't that be being dishonest? dereliction of duty? Since he or she took an oath to enforce it?

People in agricultural societies probably wondered what people would do if machines ever took over most of agriculture. But we would never have been able to have the industrial revolution if most of the population was tied up doing agriculture.

People in industrial societies wondered what everyone would do if technology and robots started taking over people's industrial jobs. But we would never have been able to develop all of the technology we have now if most of the population was tied up doing industrial work.

And here you are wondering what people are going to do if AI takes over people's mundane tasks. The answer, like every time this has happened in the past, is that we'll be able to focus on something more useful.

I'm sure you've heard OpenRoad talk about Interstate 280, which despite having a PSL of 65, CHP will NEVER even look at you twice, much less pull you over, unless you are doing 80+. And usually it's 90+ for pull overs.

This was pretty much Interstate 280 like conditions, although it was on Interstate 880 on the other side of the Bay. I was crossing a 1/4 mile gap in traffic, and otherwise would have been doing 75-80 along with everyone else. Sure, he was "doing his job", but his job involves a LOT of discretion in who to pull over because he technically has PC to pull over nearly every vehicle on the road. And at 7:10 am on the Friday after Thanksgiving, he should have been looking out for people who were drunk/hung over. If the cop enforced every law he saw people violating, he'd literally pull over nearly every car (probably 90%+ on this one morning) he hit with his TruSpeed.

Lol... ok. So you want the cops out there enforcing the law (drunk drivers) unless it's on you and if it's on you, that cops a crooked douchebag. got it

On any given day in any state in the Union I would expect to be pulled over for + 20PSL... That's a pretty hefty speed to expect leo to do nothing.

And this is coming from a guy who's at +15 to +20PSL everyday... If I get caught and I have before, I expect to get pulled and ticketed.

Now, If you wanna talk about the cops that are out there harassing folks for 5 to 7 over... then im all on board labeling them as douchebags.
