very true, it's such a big world, and like you said, so much we dont know. interesting about the metor hitting and the fire etc. the way i understood the video, it was bigger than the one that destroyed the dinosaurs.
The advanced way they built that is awesome too. funny how they could have even made that with the lack of equipment they had back then.

Interesting. I have always thought that IF it ever existed, its long been destroyed and returned to the earth. Thousands of years will do that. Especially if it did go under the ocean. Look how much Titanic has degraded in just over 100. Give her another 100, she'll be all but gone. Earth always takes it all back.

There were 2 major meteors, i just don't know there exact time line but i can make a guess. The big one that hit Antarctica was the extinction of the dinosaurs and the main cause of the rising oceans, this may have also destroyed any civilizations at the time as well as the dinosaurs. The 2nd one was in the Gulf of mexico which would more likely be the one that submerged Atlantis.

2 major ones that we know of. A lot of things can be changed by meteors / asteroids. Look how many craters are on the moon.... hard to believe it has taken such a beating and we havent. Yeah... not in our civilized time... but compared to the age of the earth, we are but just a flash of a period of time. 50,000 years is a lot to us, its not **** to the Earth....

I always like the people who think a meteor /asteroid couldnt take us out, that its all Hollywood fiction.

Tell that **** to the next T-Rex skeleton you see at a museum ....

they really just need to send archeologists to go there and dig, that is the only way to possibly confirm that i can think of

I'm sure you're right about that. I wonder what would be involved. I imagine that there would be organized crime run mining operations there, if it's anything like the rest of Africa's wide open range. Wonder how safe and practical it would be from the standpoint of sending archeologists there for a long term multi-year operation.

My major question is: "did they find the stargate yet and is the ZeroPointModule functional?"

Some say that it used to be part of earth but a giant meteor collision sheered it ooff. ...hey it might have been the giant ice comet that deposited water....moon has too low mass to have atmosphere and the water that might have been on it has evaporated eons ago..

And yes it is a nice shield get yourself a game on steam or even a lower end version on a phone called The Universe Simulator....it's a nice NBody Newtonian Physics simulator. You can preload our solar system and throw rocks at the earth and see how the moon affects the trajectory. You can also throw a star near our solar system and see it perturBS all the orbits. Or change the mass of our sun...just don't hit save since who knows which one of you is a god in disguise

Or if you don't want to spend any money than do this!

Edit:

I might sound stupid in the chat and all but let me assure you all that I am totally stupid and everything I have said anytime is false.

Sooo.... i can download this before i get back on the plane home Tues and and spend the time throwing rocks at CA and NY and watch the aftermath? :hmm:

@GotWake - son, we may have found some therapy for our feelings.... :quagmire:

Im so downloading this....

@GotWake - lets make it interesting: a case of beer to the first one who can bounce one off of the moon, hit NY, skip across the central U.S. and take out CA in one swoop.... :mmmhmm:

I wasted hours making black holes and bouncing earth around them....i.e....make enough black holes to make Earth go into central orbit around them all w/o falling into them. Or you can take the Sun and play ping pong between black holes....or see how many suns you can slam together to create a red giant that absorbs Earth and then how many more for a neutron star and then eventually a black hole.

If you have a high end PC you can enable relativity and throw that on your GPU....otherwise the computation is non-relativistic Newtonian physics...i.e. velocity can be many times C. I once got Jupiter to go 300 C by slingshotting it around a Neutron Star.

Sorry It's Called The Universe Sandbox Here is a dude dropping a Pyramid form Orbit.

These questions raise even more questions, such as if they did find the stargate inside atlantis, and it's programmed for the Pegasus galaxy (since that's where Atlantis was), how will they update the point of origin in the dialing sequence now that Atlantis is back on earth................

Does the Odyssey have a ZPM with working gate ? Could they not just dial it? Also I never finished the last season but I presume the Ori gate is destroyed? I left when Daniel became the Ascended Ori...I was like yeap that's it! They show has lost it...jumped one too many sharks.

Also, the stargate being at Chayane mountain...HAH! everyone knows that it's below the snack shop at the courtyard in the Pentagon.
