Change - Dropping Support for iOS 9.x Users running iOS 9.x will only see the current version in the App Store, but will no longer get future updates.

In order to more easily move forward I am dropping iOS 9.x

iOS 10.0 will be the lowest version that will continue to get the latest updates.

By Xmas I suspect "Earlier" (9.x or older) will be like 1%

You can still run it. Install it etc.

Can’t stay in the past forever.

I don’t follow the jailbreak world but there are newer jailbreaks out there.

Life is so much simpler not rooting or jail breaking.

That’s cool and all.

But for the 0.001 percent that are jailbroken I should slow progress on features for 99.999 of the users?

I’m not the only developer dropping 9.x

There looks like other newer jailbreaks. Yeah it takes work if you want to live in the “outlier” world :) Why should I have to do the extra work needed to keep 9.x working?

You want to pay me my hourly rate for the extra work ;)

I already went out of my way to support 9.x for jailbreakers. Keeping the last 3 major versions leaves room for those folks. I’d really like to make it 11.x or newer but it doesn’t save that much work.

Out of curiosity, did something change in the voice on the latest beta? It is that an iOS 12 thing? The “vee one driver” voice sounds slightly different.

Yes it did.

I forget the exact issue but when iOS 12 Beta first came out something was broken. In order to fix it I removed it registering for local dialect. I don’t know if the change that broke me in the first place or my change to get around it or iOS just changed the dialect a bit.

It’s actually pretty funny because it tries to emphasize phrases.

I have few test POIs Like “Home Sweet Home” and “Cool” and it will say them with correct expressiveness Or phrasing.

I have had to play with things like KA so it doesn’t say “KAH”. And change it to “Kay A”.

I might have some of those in places I need to tweak with new phrasing engine.

Overall it’s not bad. I’ve had it running that way for a while.

You can play with it by assigning your own custom voice expressions. I should probably add a test button; come to think of it.

By the way, I’ve gotten a few 33.8 falses since keeping tabs, but they’ve all just gone away after a blip or two, no actual J-outs that I’ve seen. They all look pretty much like this:

It's hard to know what they are. You might have caught a blip of something real that was just turning away or it could be cobra that wasn't around long enough to J-Out.

It’s the latter. No real 33.8 in the areas pinned on the app.
