    Hi-

My name is Brian/newbie to the forum. Doing some homework before deciding on what combo of Escort Max Ci and ALP I want to get for my car. Hoping to solicit some opinions.

Is anyone running a MaxCI Remote radar alongside an ALP laser jammer? If so, can you give me a sense of how it is to run them side by side (as opposed to having one integrated system)? Klugey? sales guy at shop I'm considering for the install is pretty strongly suggesting I'll be happier if I go with Escort for both the radar and the laser, but I'm concerned about the performance of the Escort laser.

Any suggestions or experience anyone can offer much appreciated!

    Thanks.

    -Brian

calling @KASHER1979. Part of it will depend on what and where you drive. Did you look at the radenso RC-M? It integrates nicely with ALP and has a nice display/control. Overall though I think many of us run separate radar and laser systems, I have the Uniden R1 and ALP and I don't mind them not being integrated in any way... some folks like having a single display and control panel though...

That combo, although expensive, is an excellent way to go. The Max Ci radar performance and filtering is excellent, and the ALP is far superior to the Max Ci jammers. I believe there are a few users here running such a setup, and hopefully they will chime in with their experience. Keep in mind, the shop is likely getting a large margin on the Escort system, and little or no margin on the ALPs.

Hey Brian, I used to run that combo and loved it (When I ran that combo, I put my Escort shifters in my glovebox lol and had the ALP's installed.). I would not describe the experience as "klungy". Heck, you can set an "auto JTK" that will kill the jammers automatically after a set timer. Trust me on this, you will be much happier knowing you have full lidar protection and better features with ALPS.

@STS134 is planning a very similar setup. I think most of us agree that it's pretty much the best combination on the market.

It's fairly normal for Escort dealers to be pushing you to go all Escort. But I don't think running these two systems side by side is very kludgy. The Escort radar system barely needs you to press any buttons on it, with AutoMute. ALP's control pad is pretty straightforward (and should be the one you optimize for being able to stealthily reach). Setting a 3-4 second JTK timer on the ALPs means in the worst case you don't have to even reach for a button there (though we highly highly recommend killing your ALPs as soon as possible, going as far as to preemptively slow down and pre-kill them if you can)

    Welcome to the organization.
From what I have read you are getting the best of both worlds with the remote mount Max Ci and ALP laser attentuators. As others have mentioned when targeted by laser slow the heck down ASAP and shut off your ALP before anyone gets wise to your setup.

This is the setup that I will soon have in my car. IMHO it's the best of the LIDAR world combined with the best of the RADAR world.
