Does anyone besides me have Escorts ZW5 or ZR5 installed on their vehicle?? I would like to know how you like the system and do you see any problems with it ( besides no timed shut-off feature on the jammers when your hit with a laser gun)? The timed shutoff feature doesnt bother me but, I wish it the system stated the laser gun you were being hit with, like the ALPS. I guess a speaker would be needed for that feature.

Max 360CI with front and rear ZR5s on two of my cars...no issues, does what I need it to do for the most part...Would like to see the promised timed jamming options...but not holding my breath...

There's been a couple ZR5's tested separately that did fine.

Initially Escort claimed they could slay the dragon but a couple forum members found it couldn't even detect the latest dragon guns. When presented with this problem on their forums they started lying that it wasn't true, threatened slander lawsuits, then banned anyone who said anything negative but true about their products. Eventually Escort listened and released an update that allowed them to detect and jam that version of the dragon eye. That's just one of many reasons people here are trying to steer you away from them.

You might be OK with the ZR5's depending on the threats you encounter. But only 1 company, ALP, has a proven track record of addressing new threats as they come. Escort might be able to keep up, but their track record is terrible (the previous "laser shifter pro" they sold never even received an update and couldn't handle the dragon and other modern guns).

I have ZW5 (X2) installed on Expedition EL and G90. Seem to work fine with ER dash RD integration. Easy to install. Based on solid opinions in RDF, not sure the EL has full frontal coverage with two heads. Will gray market two additional heads and see if it will work. I believe it might. Same electronic controller as larger system (non supported design to add more than two). One of my team said they had one hit he thought was jammed. He killed it manually before jam to gun as protocal. He was not speeding, so who knows if it did the job. I have only seen one other cycle cop tagging other side of highway in G90. Had problems with update/upgrade tool. Then mysteriously started working.

I had the ZW5 but had to return it because 2 sensors weren't going to be enough. So I purchased the ZR5 and place 4 heads in the front of my vehicle. I haven't tested mine yet but I believe I'm pretty well covered. I really liked the set up of the ZW5's. It was fast and easy just make sure 2 sensors will totally protect your vehicle.

^^^ Agree. Thanks for your advice. Once it get the time and ability to sneak in two additional sensor/TX devices on the controller, will let you know if that works. Otherwise, hope all of them can be reused in conventional ZR5 deploy (or write check for Max360i which seems to be liked ok on RDF). But then, we are getting into ALP higher end pricing.

What do you mean "sneak in two additional sensors"? If you have the ZW5 system 2 sensors is the highest you can go. On the sensors box there's two additional cable hook ups to make it look like you can hook up 2 more sensors but you can't. There's not enough power in the unit to power 4 laser Jammer sensors on the ZW5. If you need more sensors you will have to get the ZR5. The sensors you have with the ZW5 are compatible with the ZR5.

Yea, likely a power problem as they say... But, maybe not. Same controller as the ZR? Those extra ports are not for artistic and cost saving value. We will see. I am willing to take the chance. Curiosity killed the cat, get that. In my case, might kill the cash if I have to buy another. Those two extra ports for a rebel like me are tempting. Thank you for the advice.

They wanted to keep the cost down instead and come out with it sooner. That's the reason it comes with the plugs on input sensors 3 and 4 on the bridge box.

I would be a lot of testing if you still plan to put 4 sensors on the ZW5 system. Let me know how you make out. I know escort was TOTALLY AGAINST this approach with me. Are you putting 2 sensors on the front and 2 on the rear?

4 up front. Couple of reasons. Have to compromise, and the built in cables with the heads have limited DC power loss, verses extending them to the back. I believe the large front end of the Expedition EL, 4 well placed should do the trick. Same theory for the G90. I am willing for the moment to go naked in the back with this system. One day with a vehicle I will keep for a long time, will go front/back. A full remote system like 360i with ZR. Or ALP with another remote, possible Radenso integration. Might do this with ZL1, or potential move to 2019 GT500. That will be uber expensive compared to how few of miles will be running with one of these. Or, go full Monty with the vehicles driven most miles. For now, one step at a time. IF I seem to have 4 working, I bet someone here in RDF with a Dragon (or whatever latest flavor of day tough device) would want to meet half way to test and see if this set up works well. For the moment I admit, until I plug 2 extra in, it is a keyboard exercise.
