Looks like he was fishing with a 3mph tolerance.

@hammerdown You have any familiarity with the tactics in this area?

They seriously pulled you over for 73 in a 70?! Did they go on a fishing expedition at all? Only good reason I can think of for bothering to pull someone over for PSL+3.

ETA: Tallyho beat me to it.

As far as the range, that does seem pretty terrible. I face mostly 35.5 myself and that would be no bueno for sure.

I remember years ago in the late 90’s driving through a part of the OK highway system and there were these HUGE signs posted stating something like “zero tolerance given for speeding”. There were 2 wolf pack highway patrol officers working each side for miles. I seen these wolf packs for like a good 10 mile stretch near where they had these signs. There were cars crawling by me in the left lane not going 2-4 mph over and they still got yanked. They weren’t playing around!

Wait let me check google...

Found a reference article for them!

www.ocolly.com: `Zero tolerance' good move for state roads

That sucks, sorry to hear about the ticket. Impossible to defend against I/O if you're the only one on the road. Hopefully you'll be able to get it dismissed since it's only 3 over. Edit: Misread the OP :( Thanks @DBMW30

Which alert corresponds to the ticket warning? Both of the alerts you posted look like really weak 35,5 detections and then a laser alert, but the ticket says radar?

In the second alert map, was the alert really that weak when you passed the LEO? If so that is surprising, and it certainly suggests something is wrong with your V1.

Do you have any dashcam video of the encounter?

Isn’t it only a warning ticket as it states this in the top of his printout? States at the bottom won’t go on his record?

Didn't you just recently get that V1 ? Perhaps some of the settings need tweaking ? How have your other encounters with Radar gone ?

Wait, you got a 35.478 alert at 20:48:09 hrs, probably an I/O shot by a LEO in the hunting party ahead of you, then you get nailed 3 minutes and 1 second later by an I/O 35.503 shot at 75 in a 70. If that first I/O shot was front arrow, I'd say your V1 is very healthy. 3.77 miles not bad!

3 over. Wow that's pretty stringent for a warning!

In FL the speeding infractions are charged in units (5-9 MPH over PSL, 10-15 MPH over PSL, 16-etc.) so they don't even mess with anything under 5 MPH. That's just crazy that they hit you for that, but it states its a warning though.

+7 is generally fine in WI unless you are in a small town, in which case all bets are off.

No dashcam video unfortunately. Kinda feel defeated and lost faith in the v1, Wondering if it works or not, even though it's a written warning, it could've been way worse. It's still a recorded encounter though.

I'm still not sure I understand the encounter based on your description and the JBV1 logs provided. Did you see hiddencam's post above?

If they were running I/O and there was no one ahead of you, there wouldn't be anything to detect. Both 35.5 alerts look pretty weak, including the one where the arrows switch, which I'm guessing means you were passing the LEO running radar? If so, I don't understand how the alert could be so weak unless he was perpendicular to the road and obstructed or running rear antenna.

It looks like the first 35.5 alert is 2 mins before the warning was issued, and the next 35.5 and laser alerts were 1 minute after the warning was issued?

The guy that pulled me over made me get out of the car and sit in the front seat of the cop car,. He had a stalker unit in hold mode on the dash. First laser hit was the camera passing by the point of entry with a k band hit. These guys were further up the road. Did a little reading and they have gatso traffic cameras placed at the scale houses on the interstate and that probably got my reading. I've blown by it before doing 80.

They put you in the cop car for going 3 over? WTF?

Also, did they clock you with radar or laser? When you say he had a Stalker in hold mode, I assume you mean a Stalker lidar gun. If it was radar, then it wasn't the source of the 35.5 ka. If it was laser, I wouldn't be so hard on your V1.
