I was up in Northern Alberta last week, scouting for the fall hunt. I took my truck and wasn't sure if I should move my Uniden R3 from my Corvette to the truck for the trip, but I did. I was ripping from Grande Prairie to Valleyview when I got a hard hit on Ka band and immediately hit the brakes. Dropped my speed to about the limit when I saw the LEO. Pointed right at me as I drove by..... My decision to take my R3 saved me a few points and hundreds of dollars.

Congrats on the R3 purchase and save. Pretty sure the terrain their is pretty flat, straight, and no or limited trees, but regardless you will have many more saves, and enjoy tbe unit.
