Daze (you know the code) acting odd on iPhone?

Is anybody seeing any strange behavior with using Daze on their iPhone. I am on release 4.41.2.0 if that helps.

What I am seeing for the last two days is that Daze does not keep my route running when I use the Right Button on my iPhone to turn off the display. Up until yesterday, it was still running and telling me where to turn and object in the road, police spotted ahead, and when I pressed my thumb to the ID button to open the phone, Daze would be running and show me where I am currently on my mapped route.

For the last two days, if I don't keep the display on with Daze showing, it is all gone no matter which way I open the iPhone and I must tap Resume Route. Once I either go to another App or close the display, Daze is no longer active giving directions and warning and it has never done this before. To my knowledge I have not changed any setting in Daze or on my iPhone.

Anybody else seeing this? Anybody have any ideas or suggestions? I do not keep my iPhone plugged in while driving so I need the display off so I can make the whole drive without having to plug in or recharge.

You keep saying Daze. What is Daze? Do you mean Waze? Some sort of sideloaded hacked version of Waze? An attempt at a LOLCLEVER name for it like "Windoze"? Or what?

Waze has been sketchy like that for a while for me, at least a few months. I don't know why, haven't found any confirmable rhyme or reason for it. I can switch over to another app (like podcasts or whatever else) and be messing around, and when I double-tap and go back to Waze, it's been a crapshoot to see whether it loads from scratch and asks if I want to resume the route or if it's already on target. If I let the screen go off in another app or lock it myself, just to help the batter get charged back up more quickly, it's also a crapshoot. Maybe it tells me to turn, maybe it doesn't because it's died in the background due to some unknown reasons.

I've been hoping they're working on it...

Interestingly enough; I ran Waze in the background and My audible book app up front the entire 3900 mile round trip I just drove last week and I didn’t get any points or reports credit at all. I’m still at the same point value as when I initially left my home my location. I’m on iPhone 8 Plus. Fricking strange.....

Great movie btw. "That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age."

A month ago I was asked by a Member with a higher user level to edit one of my other posts with the "W" word and change all the "Ws" to "Ds" so the "W" word doesn't show up in outside search engines and to use the "D" word as its replacement. Did I misunderstand the request or is the Forum not doing this anymore? I received a thank-you for editing my post, Dondering, I mean Wondering?

Update on today's App behavior. It did the exact same thing while starting my drive right after the first screen closure. So I did a reboot on my iPhone and set my destination again. It was fine after the first two screen closures giving me directions and such. Hit a stretch of road on the Interstate where I didn't need to exit for two hours and then saw a LEO setup for Lidar without a Daze warning so I open the iPhone and Daze is not running and when I tap on the App it asks if I wish to resume my drive, I open the App, turn my iPhone 180 degrees and the LEO is in fact MARKED on the map!

With the new "No Touch" law in Georgia, I wish somebody made a decent 90 degree Lightening Cable jack! I have no way to plug my iPhone in right now without doing a major dash/windshield spacing rebuild (iPhone, Android, SiriusXM, V1, A119 dash cam, Palmetto Pass toll transponder, Sun Pass transponder, Peach Pass transponder).

LOL man I’ve honestly never heard that. No idea where that came from.

Driving around today it’s been behaving itself. Not an issue with Google Maps (and definitely not Apple Maps). Not sure why, but it would be nice if they would fix it. Hopefully soon iOS 12 will be out, and Waze will be supporter ok CarPlay, which would be a major improvement and might make it a non issue for people who run it that way.

I just drove 400 miles this week in CA w/o any issues. San Diego - Camarillo & back to LA R3 has few Ka’s but nothing spectacular.

Mind my asking what Ver your App is and what IOS version you are running on your iPhone? This crap is driving me nuts and I am missing warnings unless I just leave it up and on!

I'm able to run Waze' screen on my 2017 MKZ's navi screen recently........ Not sure how that came to be--haven;t updated the SYNC3 version or Waze......

and it actually does works reasonably well---
