Auto mute was not working today. Whether a K or a Ka signal, the RD would not keep quite after the supposed 2 seconds. There was a constant audible alert. Any ideas about what's going on?

We would need to know what settings you have your Pro M set to.

Also, it seems you like to create many topics. Please remember if you have questions for us, you can always email our support department.

I see no problem with creating topics to get input from fellow forum goers.

I have Auto Mute on. From page 6 of your manual, "If activated, alert volume will be muted after two seconds." Then from page 1 of the said manual: "AutoMute reduces volume of alerts after 2 seconds." That is a contradiction.
The manual also mentions Mute Mode, but does not mention how to activate it. I used Google to find a link to a forum where a member mentions how he found out how to turn it on. I am certain an updated manual will be to everyone's benefit.

Is it the same information when you checked the online manual from Radenso’s web site? Or is this just the paper one that came with the detector it’s self??

Obviously.

It would also be helpful if you'd post what your other settings are.

It's from the one on their website. My RD did not come with a paper manual.

I already stated above that I found the appropriate button, and not through the manual that is lacking information.
Other settings are not relevant to the mute mode setting. Mute mode, which mutes the audio alerts , works irrespective of whether I have K narrow or wide, Ka filtering on or not, etc.

Other settings are not relevant to the mute mode setting.
Have to love it when people ask for help and when they are asked for additional information they indicate that's not relevant. Looks like you already know how all the options interact. Email Radenso support to let them know what needs to be fixed.

So you never have bought anything chinese ??

Were you able to "just figure it out" or did you contact the chinese forum where you know the manufacturer sometimes posts.

I say this because times have changed and a good manual is almost nonexistent nowadays.

So why must a RD Manufacturer do it differently than 98% of the manufacturers ???

Just sayin'

And yes we CAN HELP you when you post your HIGHLY CUSTOMIZABLE settings so we can determine how best to help you.

Better than any manual will ever demonstrate !!

The least a manufacturer of a high-tec product can do is proofread the manual that's put out to ensure it does not have conflicting information. Just sayin'.

I find it surprising that a manual for the new Pro M is worse than a manual for the XP.

What your current volume set at? If it’s at 1, I don’t believe the unit will lower the volume to zero when auto mute kicks in. I don’t have a ProM but have a RC-M and believe that’s how it works on it. Randy or Jon can correct me if I’m wrong.

Oh, ok. I think it was one of my posts about the mute function. I found it by accident as well. I don't use it, and I know that Radenso is aware of it.
I missed a lockout and held the lockout button for longer than I needed to.

You are right on the money. It was your post from March of this year. Very helpful, thanks.

I already found the answer. But no, I don't keep my volume that low. I listen to music way too loud to be able to discern the RD at vol=1. :)
