Today I went to lunch with Ping one of our document analyst. He's got a modified e90 BMW 335. It's a pretty pimp ride although the waste gate blow off whistle is kind of "Rice". But he's from Thailand originally so go figure..

Anyways, on the way back from lunch he says "I'm gonna wash my car real quick" then darts into a service station auto car wash.

As we pull up to the pay station I tell him you know these things are terrible for your paint? As he puts his credit card in he goes "Nah, it's okay. I only do this sometimes" then we pull into the wash bay.

We pull in slowly until the light turns red to stop. Then Ping opens the door and gets out out of the car. I say "Ping! what are you doing? You can't get out of the car?" and he says "I no like these things so I wait outside".

Then he huts the door and leaves me sitting in his car the whole cycle. I can see him standing outside the car wash smoking a cigarette watching me and I'm just sitting there.

Finally the cycle ends then he walks into the car wash opens the door and climbs back in. As we drive out I tell him "I've never heard of car wash anxiety?" and he looks at me and says "In Thailand those things can kill you"

I love how he sends you into harms way and smokes a cig while waiting to see if you make it out alive. :suspense:

I’m picturing an entire car wash machine collapsing on a lil Asian dude and crushing him instantly. Lol. That is a great story. Glad this one could make it into the PG rated section.

@infiniti no more posting please, my "Like" just evened up your Messages with your Likes Received :bandwagon:

@erickonphoenix Another great story posted! The silly things people think can happen and then the sillier thing they do to avoid it. My mother's friend used to put a beach towel over the TV so she couldn't see the picture while she was VCRing her soap while the ladies played Bridge. I asked what the towel was about, she said she wanted to watch it straight through when they were done playing Bridge without being distracted by glancing over during play. I asked why not just shut the TV off and not be tempted at all. She said, "Then my program will not be able to record because the TV is off". No matter what I said I could not convince her that the tuner in the VCR was where the recorded signal was coming from and that she didn't even need a TV to record!

Very odd, would be something to see
But yeah, I only use the touch free ones. Those brushes lay on the ground when they're not spinning, and those wheel cleaners will scratch your rims and paint. I needed a car wash back in spring on a cross country cruise, took forever to find a wash and it had brushes. Chanced it the one time and it made me cringe

How does one apply to be the soap guy at one of these events?

Car washes will kill you, but cigarettes are safe. I've been looking at things wrong this whole time.

Thats too funny, sounds like he got out of the car so smoothly, you are probably not the only one to ride through a wash without him...lol
