Passed a DPS Tahoe running constant on K-band in front and back on FM 1283 this afternoon. It was close to home so I didn't have the JBV1 app running, therefore I don't know what the K-band frequency was. It was a weak signal coming towards and going past him. Assumed it was a Bandera county sheriff since that's what they always run, but shocked to see a DPS Tahoe.

As far as I know, the only radar unit capable of running both antennas simultaneously is the Stalker 2X, which is Ka 34.7 only.

Are you sure it wasn't a K band false?

I ran into (and got a ticket from) a DPS Tahoe on 1283 right near the main Pebble Beach entrance. Ka 34.7...

I believe I have heard some reports of the DPS getting new low powered K-band guns.

Oh man, that sucks. I'm guessing he was selectively targeting and using instant-on? I rarely go that way on 1283, always towards Pipe Creek. I am seeing DPS more often now in the area, both the Charger and the Tahoe. It may be due to the increase in illegal activity in the area, especially that nut-job escapee.

I’ve seen probably three or four k band Tahoe dps in the last year and all were constant on. I believe one was a commercial enforcement but others had class c auto customers. The net radar went full strength when going through the cone I didn’t notice any real attenuation.

Nah he was just rolling with it off.

DPS has definitely been involved since Monday. Entirely slipped my mind.

They definitely do have K guns even though the 34.7 is more common by a longshot. If you really can’t run two channel K gun then I’m not trying to discredit you by saying he could’ve had a gun with only one channel but that’s what pops in my mind. Maybe he did coincidentally give off a false and wasn’t running anything but I don’t believe in coincidences. Only way to find out is to hit +15 and see if he notices but I don’t really know anyone who would take one for the team. Does the V1 or app like to latch onto signals? Only real possibility I could see here. My R3 latches onto stuff a good ways out here.

Ran into low power K in a DPS Charger in Llano today. Fun stuff. Local guy blaring 34.7 shortly behind him.
