I want to know if there are any VIP users from Spain and their experience with the Velolaser, I will tell you mine.

Last July I was driving along the South of Spain and saw a police car parked under an overpass in the shade, unfortunately too late to slow down enough. I was clocked over 160 kph. Afer a few kilometers I was stopped and received my ticket. They had used the new Velolaser guns. The VIP did not detect the gun and, of course did not put up the shield.

Has anyone encountered these guns and got away?

My laser installation is front, side and rear laser packages. In France and the North of Spain I have gone away from tickets from other laser guns.

Thank you.

This gun is unknown in America.
Wonder if @Brd , the seller of the Alp could answer your question.
He dont sell the Vip but his system is the most advanced for laser protection.
Vip is surely late @ the laser party ...according to some report.

Just for your info , caught at that speed in Canada : you loose your car for 7 days + a huge ticket ...psl is everywhere 100 kms.

At first the approval for velolaser: http://www.cem.es/sites/default/files/150396001.pdf
According to the approval, the Laser Sensor is a "Noptel CMP52"

Laser Sensor Description from Noptel (Finland) Noptel Oy - TrC Products - CMP51 and CMP52 Laser Radars
There we have:
Wavelength: 905 nm -> perfect!
Beam divergence: 16 mrad -> this means at about 0,8 m diameter laser pattern at a distance of 50 m, it is a very wide beam compared with a stardard laser gun.
Measurement rate: up to 5 Khz -> Not sure if Stinger has the ability to record unknown laser signals and generate a file for Stinger Engineering to send, but if possible this is the next thing to do.

Bichi did you sent this information to Stinger?
I had some problems with my installation and was in contact with them about the other issues, when I got the ticket I asked them about the Velolaser and they said that they had no experience with it, no one had reported any encounters. My installer is going to install a VIP in a LEO´s car and do the testing to see if it works or not with e Velolaser. Yes, here even LEOs use these devices. This will be done during Q3 2018. I´m waiting for the feedback from him.

I have been saved several times, actually every time(except this one) from several different guns, there was one time in France that at 850m I got the first hit and with the 3sec shield I was fine by the time I went by the LEO. It was a front shot so he didn´t see the break lights.
I am satisfied with the VIP, well until now.

The ticket was 300€ and two points in my record out of twelve. By paying right away I got a 50% discount. Actually, this was my first moving violation.

Probably car stopped, car inspection, in France :1.500€, in Spain: 6.000€ if found and car seizure until removal of the items. And I think 6 points to my driving record.

With all the secondary fees it is close to $ 10,000 uscy ...a huge sum.

I heard only cops from Douanes can do the inspection ...is that true ?

I would think that LEO's use these devices to know how they function and how to beat them... be very careful of LEO's when it comes to CMs
