Many of the forums I've been on have a list of posting guidelines regarding things like links to external sites, max picture sizes, etc. I looked around here and didn't see anything like that, so before I create a new thread about my install, I figured I'd ask.

I've seen a bunch of messages with links to other sites here so I figured it was OK, but some forums are sometimes touchy about what kind of sites are allowed and which aren't. Any rules like that here? My thread would include a link to bimmerpost.com. If that isn't cool, please let me know.

My post will have around 40 pictures. I saw the message that pictures are automatically compressed and resized as needed - does that mean I can post the original image size (4032 X 3024) and let RDF forum magic handle it, or should I resize them to an allowed max?

I've seen some posts with all the pictures clumped together in one picture gallery, and others with the pictures inline with the text. Is that just poster preference, or is there a preferred method?

If you move your mouse cursor over the word FORUMS at the top of the page then move down the list, you will see the last one is Forum Rules

www.rdforum.org: Forum Rules | Radar Detector & Laser Jammer Forum
Yes, I saw that and read it, but it didn't say anything about picture size or organization (which makes sense, since that wouldn't really be a rule). Some sites have a preferred or de facto method, and others don't, so I thought I'd ask if there's a SOP here.

Linking to other forums is fine. We have a photo gallery where you can upload your pictures. It you can use image hosting sites like imgur stand post them here. Images on rdf will be automatically resized. It all comes down to personal preference.

I see. I was basically answering the part specifically about Rules and posting of links, copyrighted material and such which is covered under Forum Rules.
