What are folks opinion/experiences with using a website such as “Bernie Sez” to locate a lawyer to fight traffic offenses in various parts of the country?

I tried a few after my wife received a ticket and didn't get a single response. Ended up just finding a lawyer near the courthouse on Google Maps that dealt with traffic tickets, and have been very happy with his performance thus far.

You could always try the app "off the record". I have heard decent things about it, but personally have not used it myself.

Bad idea
They'll just assign a case and the deal you get is the deal you get

Best thing to do is study prior outcomes for tickets similar than call lawyers in the county it was issued and chat with lawyers 1 by 1

Spend a bit of time as an *observer* in the traffic court/the judge(s) you expect to appear before. Defendants with attorneys have their cases called first. Gives you a chance to see different lawyers in action and *compare and contrast* Ask for the business cards of any who impress you. Stick around afterwards and see how the court handles pro se defendants as well. You'll get to see what works/what doesn't.

My buddy got a ticket after a minor fender bender. I used one of those lawyer-locator web sites and got referred from one attorney to another to another. Finally just picked a local, in-town attorney who got the job done.
