Looking around, it seemed that there was no support for Bluetooth LE with the app, and was wondering if there has been any progress made with it. If not, would any of the devs here want some help trying to get it to work? I know i have seen some posts from the app devs around here. I have a software development background and have been looking for a side project.

I'm not sure about @fanta, but I personally haven't been working on YaV1 or BLE support recently. I'm off next week and plan to spend some time working on things again, there's at least a few bugs to fix (alerts don't always get cleared from the display, C and c don't change in the Tools tab when toggled) and a couple features I want to implement, including BLE support.

I appreciate the offer to help, let me see how far I get next week.

Any updates on yav1 connecting with Bluetooth LE? I purchased the le a month ago and was looking forward to using yav1 but like it's stated above, no support. Thanks for your time.

As a former user of YaV1 v2.03 and v2.04g for over two years, I intend this with all due respect:

With all of the additional features JBV1 brings, why hang on to YaV1?
I say this in a desire to help out my fellow V1 enthusiasts that have not tried JBV1.
If you've tried it and prefer YaV1, I'll gladly listen to your reasons if you'd like to offer some. :) Im not wanting to be critical, just potentially helpful.

1) In my experiences, YaV1 sometimes used to "forget" to show an overlay on alerts requiring me to restart it.
That's never an issue for me anymore.

2) YaV1 used to take a longer amount of time to start and stop which forced me to include delays and timeouts in my automation scripts which didn't always work correctly.
Now my scripts are much simpler and JBV1 handles a great deal of those previous steps internally and automatically.

3) YaV1 didn't have Crowd Sourced Alerts (IMO one of the absolute best features!), Aircraft Alerts, Speedcam or Red Light cam alerts, Vascar alerts, user alerts, etc.
Also, the alerts YaV1 did present had less information.

4) YaV1 didn't have speed based muting, rear or side muting under a certain threshold.

5) YaV1 had less logging features as I recall.

6) YaV1 was not updated frequently. Many of my own requests and suggestions have been incorporated into JBV1 over the last 10 months and I'm not the only user that can say that.

7) Automatic Profiles by location / boundaries. This is pretty handy if you travel to areas that use X-band, K-band, or lidar or even have different segments than your home area.
I have many areas in my list where X-band is automatically enabled while traveling through that particular county and then it's turned off when I leave.
I have an entry for Kentucky that adds segments 1 and 4 to my standard segments of 2, 5, and 8 as long as I'm anywhere in Kentucky.

I feel like there are other benefits as well such as the live weather background (that I've really started to enjoy) but I'm not trying to do an exhaustive comparison.

Anyway, I'm not really wanting to hijack this thread although it could be too late.
Again, I'm open to conversation about this. :)
