I was just wondering does any model of the lidar guns show the jammer heads firing back in the view finder. ?? Cause if they made a gun like that then the cop is gonna see you have jammers and stop you anyway weather you jtk or not ...

Hey don't give them any ideas! By law in most places they are supposed to shoot only specific spots on the vehicle. Most detector/jammers are setup to give an oval or circle of coverage that is not directly where they are "supposed" to shoot so they are on those spots they are not looking directly at the areas where heads are located. I didn't have enough time to play with the DragonEye I was allowed to try to see everything it could do, but the view finder did not magnify the target is was tracking/shooting.

you are also firing IR at the car so IR would be reflecting off things too... During daylight it would be washed out by the ambient light... At night you have headlights shining as well... Not saying they couldn't develope something but not a simple thing.

I believe the TruCam is the only one that comes to mind that performs IR recordings. Most cameras have IR filters to prevent unwanted IR glare when taking photos in the sun.

But with that said, LIDAR guns and jammers operate at relatively low duty cycles (they spend most of their times off and pulse on to fire short pulses of light). It is unlikely to be very visible unless the system is specifically designed to capture IR pulses.

Yea noooo .. I wasnt trying to help them in any way ..lol. But youre right they only fire for a short time. Unless you where looking for it .. It would be hard to see... Unless they made and quick switch so if the cop had a hard time getting you they can switch it over to pick up ir pulses

I may have misunderstood what you were asking. I thought you were asking if when shooting a vehicle if they could see the Heads visibly through the viewfinder. I don't believe they can, at least not on the unit I used as there was zero magnification.

If you are asking if they can see the jamming IR coming at them and need to switch something, they don't have to. Most of the new Lidar tell the officer he is being interfered with and label it! It says Jammer 1, Jammer 2, or Jammer 3 in the view finder which I suppose translates to a specific brand such as ALP, Max 360 CI, or brand X. Again I don't know for sure if it tells them which one, but it definitely tells them they are being jammed.

Today it is more important then ever to shutdown the second you get back down to the speed limit.

Well i know theres some poeple out there that dont jtk as quick as they can... What made me think of this is i put my old zr4 on my girls car since it was laying around anyway and every couple months i put my cell phone to camera and check the heads with my LI tester to see if all 8 leds are working and water didnt get in the head yet ... Thats what started this all. Lol

Traffipatrol XR has a camera version that sees the heads transmitting when it's dark.

I know it is a possibility that some guns can report they are being interfered with, but I thought ALP specifically did it in a way such that the firing gun would not report it is being jammed, as it wasn’t a brute force jamming implementation. Maybe someone more knowledgable on the subject can speak to it. I’d like to know for sure.
