So... the female cop didn't have speed detection equipment, Said the woman driver was going 80-85... fate decided by a coin flip app on another officers phone. Nice.

Worst part is that this crap happens all the time. Many officers seem to have no human empathy to understand the consequences of their decisions for the people they are interacting with. I've seen way too many videos of things like this to believe that these incidents are isolated. I've seen several videos where they are going through the exercise of scouring the laws to find something to charge people with just so they charge them with "something". It's ridiculous.

Body cams are awesome, they should be requried for ALL POLICE and should NEVER be turned off when the police are on duty. The cams should upload to the cloud where the police agency can't delete the originals and can only redact info from COPIES for FOIA requests when required.

Those two quotes pretty much sum it up - they'll protect their own even when they're in the wrong.

OMG!!! I just watched the video here:

That's freaking unbelievable! Test come back negative and the response is that the test were wrong? Their defense of the arrest is that the marijuana could have already metabolized or that it was probably present but blow detection limits? Both of those would vindicate the driver as they STILL would not be operating under the influence. I've never been one to "hate" LEO but rather avoid having interactions with them. This puts that thinking in a different realm.

No, no. They were fired to save face for the department after the news story broke (2 months after they were aware of the incident). I'm really not sure that qualifies as a reasonable standard. At least for me, that should have been immediately after the department was aware of the situation.
