Does anyone have the Beltronics Detector Tools v1.5.42 zip file that they downloaded from the Beltronics website? If anyone does have DT v1.5.42, would you please let me know, and I'll arrange to provide my personal email address to you, if you would be able to please send the file to me. Background: I never had a problem downloading any of the updated Beltronics Detector Tools versions. I would then successfully install the updated version. (Prior to downloading each new DT version, I would uninstall the older version, per Beltronics instructions). On or about June 23, 2018, I uninstalled DT v1.5.42. I then successfully downloaded DT v1.5.54. However, upon attempting to install the new and updated DT v1.5.54, the installation sequence would freeze approximately 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through the installation process. I tried to complete the installation numerous times, without success. As it was late at night and Beltronics customer service was closed, I called the Geek Squad, with which I have a membership. Two very highly knowledgeable "agents" were unable to get DT v1.5.54 to successfully install. The installation process would always freeze at the same point. The next day I called Beltronics customer service. A rep attempted to install DT v1.5.54 two or three times, without success. The rep then connected me with a rep who was a "Customer Service Expert" regarding such things as downloading and installing DT. The rep took over remote control of my laptop, as did the previous rep, and also the Geek Squad Agents. The "Customer Service Expert" uninstalled and deleted everything pertaining to any of the DT downloads (as did the previous rep and the Geek Squad Agents). The "Expert" then downloaded DT v1.5.54 successfully. However, the installation process once again froze at the same point as during previous installation attempts. During email and phone communications with the "Expert", I was informed that Beltronics Detector Tools v1.5.54 will NOT successfully install on computers with Windows 8.1 (which I am using), or on Windows 10. It will supposedly successfully install on a computer using Windows 7. I was informed that I was the first customer/user to report the problem to Beltronics, Since then, numerous additional customers/users have contacted Beltronics to report the same problem. However, the DT v1.5.54 file is still on the Beltronics website, with no warning that it will NOT successfully install on a computer using Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. I have reported the problem and written about it on the Beltronics Forum, but there has not been any information forthcoming from Beltronics. I have recently been informed by the "Expert" that the Beltronics engineers are working with Microsoft in an attempt to develop a "fix" for DT v1.5.54. I am not going to hold my breath waiting for a "fix", as it may take an undetermined amount of time for a "fix" to be developed and then released to the public. I have also asked if there was any way that I could obtain the "old/previous" DT v1.5.42, and I have been told NO, there is no way to provide DT v1.5.42 to me,. So, I am reaching out in the hope that someone has the original downloaded Beltronics Detector Tools v1.5.42 zip file. If I can obtain the original DT v1.5.42 zip file, I feel confident that I can successfully install it again on my laptop. In the meantime, I am unable to access the Defender Database, in order to update my two STiR Plus systems. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance.
