That was a close one!
Waze was a bit late on that one.
I saw this one on youtube the other day and though to myself this must be an RDF member, but which one Nice save!
That’s an ALP alert?
He only has the standard control pad
If you just have the basic control pad it is, the exact tone varies with each gun. I have the basic pad and love it as you can tell how solidly you are picking up the signal based on how steady the tone is, and when it goes high pitched at the end you are no longer receving incoming signal.
I love the basic pad as well, I am tempted to get the Net Radar front and rear but I don't really want a HiFi module. Maybe I can get the bluetooth adapter by itself and still have my alerts sound like this?
Looks like you and the guy who got pulled over were doing the exact same speed, but he didn't have ALP So the LEO was only able to read his speed and targeted him.
Rutrow scooby someone got busted
Nice Save! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome save. Congrats!
Damn. Time to upgrade.
Almost point blank. Those freakin moto CHP’s always tuck in somewhere where it’s nearly impossible to visually pick them up. Had a moto CHP shoot me with a PL 3 today on coast highway tucked in behind a parked car. I bet your heart was pumping when you saw him pull out and hit the lights.
Why? For some, standard control pad is works just as well and keeps an extra $100 in his pockets.
Sorry I ll be harsh about this video. This was not a great save. Its a great video of a non-cm car getting pulled over. Nothing else.
Few things you need to learn for your sake and CM community sake:
1. Slow reaction time, you were definitely above cops threshold but we did not see front end dive to shave your speed. (even if you apply slight brake force its gonna be a visible dive on a dashcam). You started slowing down when ALPs high pitched tone kicked in which means you were to late.
Here are example vids:
2. Since slow reaction, you did not JTK (very important). Always JTK. Even in this situation. If you have 4 seconds timer, then you need to learn to manually JTK caz of this situation where a cop is right on top of you and by the time 4 seconds have passed you blew through a speed trap.
Cop was not targeting you but the car in the the left lane only. Thats why there s only 2 second alert, then high pitched tone which means cop stopped shooting and got the speed.
This was a clear scatter video. Im 100% sure if cop was targeting you he would keep his gun onto you much longer since he would not be getting a reading.
Good point; looks like he killed them before he slowed down. That WAS a close one! haha
I don't know if he killed them. I thought the same as BaileyAB, he wasn't the one that was targeted and his ALPs picked up the scatter.
In Vid #2, they used a 'civilian car' with the trunk lid open to hide the ambush. That's some sneaky sh*t there.
*EDIT* just looked closer and see it was a cop car. Still sneaky as hell.
I would think that he certainly could have been targeted initially as the other car was behind him at the time. So wouldn't be entirely possible that after not getting an immediate reading the LEO switched to the (by that time) faster moving and juicier left lane target?
If you look at the slow-mo part of the video, the FUDD has already put away the lidar gun and is getting ready to pull out to pull over the speeder. No way all that happened if he first targeted 1337.
