    So I just re-installed my ALP back on my vehicle and thought I would add my STi-R O behind the bumper in conjunction with my R3 for those times I cross into VA and want to go into full stealth mode with nothing in the window. Well, I plugged it into the ALP via the adapter and it is not alerting at all. ALP recognizes that it is there, but nothing...no K or KA.

    So I go online to see if Escort will still service this antenna as it has been a hot one in the past. Decide to do a chat...nope! Offline due to demand of calls. Send an email. This is what I get 3 hours later,

    "Due to the overwhelming response to our Summer Drive Event, we are unable to respond to e-mails at this time. For assistance, please call us at 800-543-1608, option 2 on the menu."

    So I call, select option 2 and immediately go on eternal hold.

    Beginning to wonder if anyone is home, because the above excuse is not working for me.

    Make sure all your connections are good and tight.

    When I put my O in, I had to make sure my connections were really tight.

    If you have a radar gun, you can test it.

    I will double check, but I am pretty sure it is secure otherwise I am not sure the ALP Connect would have recognized it and then notify me when I would disconnect from the add-on box.

    I was always told and have read in the past that it would recognize the O. The add-on box connection port says, "STi-R and STi-R M" www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/60529/

    Not sure what the "M" stands for, I believe international.

    I may pull out the Escort ECM and display and connect it to my 12V bench set up to test prior to sending to Escort. This thing was a beast on KA (which is all I was going to run it on).

    @BestRadarDetectors any input?

    The Stir-o you sold me and the one I have for sale works just fine with the alp and rg2.

    Double check your profiles. If you use A B C, make sure all are set to stiro.

    I would assume the RG2 is working fine as the ALP recognizes the head unit and if I connect the GPS it powers up fine.

    @Vortex sorry to mention you again, but it does seem like something worth bringing up ;)

    M is the international version of the Sti-R Plus and it works fine but K Filtering is awful.

    That will be a good idea, also as per my previous posts check your profiles and any settings such as low speed muting etc.

    Ok, so I bench tested my STiR-O with my 12v lighter cord connected to my unit's CPU. It almost immediately said to check wiring connected to antenna receiver. Checked all connections and they were tight. Went to a local K band false location that I know to be a strong signal. R3 identified (even though it is locked out and was on auto muting because of mute memory). Nothing from BEL. Was convinced it was dead. Just to cover all basis, I did a factory reset, and powered unit down. Waited a moment then powered back up. Presto! After standard delay as it cycled it started picking up the K band false and was within .001 of the frequency of the R3. Decided to drive a little bit to see what it picked up. R3 picked up local running 33.8 and the BEL was within a half second and picked it up as well and it is behind the bumper and significantly lower than the high mounted R3. Will connect to ALP Connect tomorrow and test. If all goes well, I should have a good KA back up for my occasional VA runs.
