~7 months back I was driving in south central Salt Lake City. It was about ~10pm and completely dark outside. I stopped for gas and locked out the traffic sensor on the intersection on the corner of the gas station. I filled up gas and went on my way. Two hours later I came through the same intersection. As soon as I got within range of the traffic sensor, I literally watched my max freeze up. It was fine minutes earlier. I had been watching it to see if it was holding my lockout from earlier. So with it locked out, I was like "This is fantastic". The traffic light changed on red for me, and I stopped at the intersection. As I'm stopped there, I notice that now a SLC PD is parked at the adjacent church parking lot across the street hiding in between some of the extruding walls of the facility (which shield the trash bins and the external HVAC heat exchangers). He was NOT there before, as I was looking around earlier when I stopped for gas. It had been night and dark the entire time, so I tend to keep my eyes peeled for shady characters. This is a really tiny intersection. Just one lane in each direction. This cop across the way is staring at me and I could practically see the whites in his eyes. I may or may not have been doing PSL +18 , so it was kind of an "oh crap" moment. Thanks Escort! So I just sat there hoping he wasn't going to come after me as at this point I realized my Mac 360c had locked out due to the concurrent K band signals of the traffic sensor + K band from his gun. Honestly I'm not sure why he didn't. You know he had my speed. I consider it a payout from the universe of good karma.
