I predict the equivalent of a repackaged 300 (RX65) or 500 to go along with Escort 8500 or IX replacement.

This will give them a cheaper entry level equivalent for the Bel brand... we'll see.

As far as Bluetooth I think every detector will probably have it from here on out if they have any hope of keeping Live alive.

Or they will go back to the old scale and have a 940/955 type of equivalent unit since Escort/Beltronics brand is loosing out to Uniden with their DFR1 & DFR3 series detectors. Since the introduction of the DFR3's we sold over 2000 of them so they are certainly loosing out in the entry level market.

Maybe it's a repackaged Max2 with a now coincidentally working IVT filter.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That'd make sense, but wasn't that what the GT-7 was? IIRC the GT-7 didn't have Bluetooth though and this one will. If that's the only change, it'd be strange to call it a GT-1 and step down the model number naming scheme as if the GT-1 is more basic than a GT-7.

Yeah the GT7 didn't have Bluetooth. I thought maybe the iX but without a good IVT filter not sure they could sell that. I suppose they could call it a GT8 but with the lower price point maybe they're going in reverse.

The Max2 does indeed have BT though.

I'm suspecting the M5 platform will become the new M4. They updated the Max series to serve as a test for firmware that will be part of new products. I think a few of us get the same feeling.

I am in the market for a new unit and wanted to see how it compares to the new DFR8. Thanks

When you can get the GT360 for $265 shipped, whats the point?

That detector is going to go up to $399 very soon. They’re not happy about the price being that low and it wasn’t their plan.

So this is going to be a pretty simple and affordable unit from Beltronics.

I see a "Mark" button on it which means it has GPS/lockouts. That is a strange place to put the "Mark" button given its location between all of the other buttons, but the Escort three-click power cord lockout will probably be a feature of this detector. I'm guessing its a re-worked Escort IX.

Wait, so they're raising the price on it ( MAP)?? Yeah, that'll work.

I agree with your sarcasm. Especially after they introduced it at $600+ and dropped it down multiple times within the first 6 months. They may not he happy about its low price but the buyers and market are the deciders here.
