Pretty sure he's northeast bound in the video. The sun would be behind him at that time of day in October. Also check the right side of the facing of the overpass. It's obscured by a bush when traveling in the southwest bound lanes.

    You're right! I stand corrected.

Still, if the cop was backed far enough up there that you can't seem him in the video, he has no angle at all to run radar. Why he pulled out after that one car is still a mystery.

@Chromatic are the time/date stamps in the video correct? I was going to check the Broadcastify police feeds to see if there was a BOLO out for that vehicle, but the records only go back 6 months. Video timestamp is 10/17/2017.

I feel like this is the most logical location and we might be over thinking it. Even with the angle, the LEO might not be aware or care about the cosign error because it's such a killer spot. Given the shade, he might also be there because it's cooler.

Still not sure. I just realized @Chromatic has rear video of the whole encounter. If he posts that we might be able to see if he was there when he passed, and/or when he pulls out.

Heck no man! I spent hours putting that original video together in the editing room .. synching footage off three cameras etc.. And I had the footage off the camera I threw in the car as a 'just in case' -- the REAR camera that SHOWED where this guy was the whole damn time.

I only had a 5 minute clip from that camera from when this was taken and I checked it and sure enough just at the end of that file / footage was this rear angle showing the State Trooper sitting back behind those trees and pulls right out almost right when I pass him.

It does look almost too convenient but I assure you I would have put that in the original video and just had a better original video than coming back and having to put more work/time in for the 'answer'.

That said - I'm glad it worked out this way because it let a bunch of people on here speculate where the cop was based on the info from the video and detector .. Then 5 days later you get a short clip that provides the exact answer!

I actually thought you had it when I saw the footage.. but you said you flipped your angle on the pic you posted so I guess that spot you posted wasn't the spot in this picture lol. Did anyone pick the location in the New video?

Looks like @WJS picked it out above.

So it’s interesting to me how it appears he seemed to have held back and paced you for a few seconds before deciding to accelerate quickly and go after that other guy. Definitely a sniper kill. I can’t believe that victim got stopped. He was barely going faster than you and the flow of traffic. It just seems like a real vengeance take down. Granted you have to speed to catch up to someone who is traveling away from you, but geez. I’ve only seen cops go by me that fast if they’re first on scene to an accident I’m about to come upon or responding to something that ends up making the local news headlines later on. But never have I seen them here fly by other motorists for a traffic takedown like that. Here they will float in quietly to get to the person you know they’re going to take down, but they do it gracefully so it appears more like a modestly anxious motorist rather than a Jason Bourne movie scene.

The spot I marked is the same spot. @Cheapguy1985 actually had the idea first that it might be that spot. I just continue the speculation from that point.

@InsipidMonkey and I got our wires crossed. I didn't flip my angle I was turned a hundred and eighty degrees from your direction of travel so the the screenshot I took was the angle of your rear dash cam.

No doubt! Was he pacing me? He was behind me obviously and sling shotted around me (Because of the gravitational field of my car.. ok no..) but accelerated behind me then swung around me like he was trying to screw with me a bit.. or maybe the Cop was just pretending he was in an action scene like you mentioned :)

The video doesn't make it out nearly as well as I saw it in the distance.. but that Cop was weaving like a mad man up ahead of me when he was after that car.. like unnecessary weaves if that makes sense.

Maybe this was Don Corleon' s descendant or something lol.. But if I had to guess.. I'd imagine it was just a simple speeding (or other minor infraction) ticket .. that was largely unnecessary.

Oh -- And I drive a sports car,.. a 350Z with a lot of modifications - point being the Cop would target my car out of the pile if at all possible.. but I slowed down (not as much as I should have though) when the V1 went off.

Ah,... well congrats officially to you @OBeerWANKenobi and @Cheapguy1985 :)

I think @OBeerWANKenobi had it first. I’m glad that’s resolved.
