I run an el cheapo Rexing dashcam in my car and it doesn't have parking mode. However my wife babies her car and is unable to park away from people at work and wants one with parking mode. I'll wire in a battery pack, so no worries there.

I keep seeing threads talking about the latest 4k dashcam's over heating in summer heat. What units fare well in high heat situations?

Must haves:
-Dual channel
-Parking mode

I'm in DFW and have been running a Vantrue N2 Pro for 4 months. It has a max operating temp of 156°, if memory serves. Personally I would, and did, skip the battery pack mess and just hardwire it. Using a VicoVation 'Vico-Power PLUS Battery Discharge Prevention Device' as your hardwire will let you set a battery disconnect level and max temperature. If your car battery starts getting too low it will shut off the camera so you can still start your car and go. Or if it gets too hot inside the car it will shut down the camera to prevent damage.

Trick is we don't want the camera shutting off at all due to temperature. Are there any that can withstand southern heat?

Be specific, "southern heat" doesn't mean anything. How hot does the car get after sitting in the sun all day?

Max operating temp of 140°and storage temp of 158°, for those interested.

If it can survive DFW it could survive here. I'll have to get a thermostat to log it, as I don't know any exact temperatures when sitting in the sun for 8 hours.

A lot of the cams (from BlackVue, StreetGuardian, Vantrue and others) that use capacitor are rated by manufacturer at 158F/70c max operating temperature... Thing is, due to various things (such as build quality or quality control at factories, which isn't very great for any dashcam brand) you can't be sure if it will actually work at this temp until you'll try it out ;-) So whatever you'll select - make sure to buy it from the place with good return policy and good warranty.

I see that the A129 is available through Amazon but it doesn't show what comes with it in details orin pictures, i.e cables, mounts, etc etc like the A119 Pro shows everything thats in the box. and etc. is it safe to buy the A129 from Amazon? do you think the cam quality of A119 Pro and A129 are similar? aside from the A129 being dual is it better the the A119S, A119V2 and A119 Pro. I am confused with the different model numbers and versions etc, Thanks

Yes, it is available in eBay/Amazon/Aliexpress/Official website! And A119 better for daytime due to native 1440p, A129 is better for night time and even with WiFi, dual channel!
