Well got stuck behind a long line in the left for what seemed like forever and noticed people passing on the right. Normally ill plow through in the empty right lane but this was not the case this time.

Well this truck got them to move with his flashy lights, I so want flashy lights!

Was that a cop or just some volunteer fire fighter or something?

Don't think it was a cop, had a normal plate, may have been a Fire Fighter but i wouldn't think so with those lights.

I picked up some cheap yellow strobe LEDs for the truck. I've seriously considered getting wigwags or whatever else, just for that purpose. Not much you can really do in the Audi, but other makes have special blinker relays you can get on the aftermarket that will work normally or enter a strobe flasher mode.

I have a relay from Diode Dynamics. Multi strobe, wig wag, things of that nature. Got the strobe on for my hazards and can set it to wig wag (or slo-mo wig wag) with a click to the right on the stalk. I wig wag tailgaiters constantly. Gets them off your ass in a hurry.

I wish the "Speed Turtle" worked for my car. Pretty impressive, plug and play on the OBD-II interface with no wiring up besides the remote. Unfortunately for me they only make it for the brands typically used by LEOs... GM, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ford.

Along many interstates I travel (though I don't know how widespread this is) rumble strips were milled into the pavement just outside of the outer travel lanes. I figure it's to let you know when you're drifting on to the shoulder. Often when I am directly behind a LLH, if flashing my high beams doesn't work, I'll run my left side tires on the rumble strip. The grrrrrrrrrrrrr sound it makes is annoying enough so that frequently the LLH moves over. Sometimes it takes a thousand feet or more of rumble-running, but it works. It's not as annoying or "in your face" like blowing the horn.

HA! I normally hit the hazards to simulate braking to get them off my tail.

I dont encounter any tailgaters. If you do, you are driving to slow and bonus, wait for it........in the LEFT LANE

Left lane is for passing. Yield to the faster traffic instead of trying to be the hall monitor.

Not necessarily. ;) When I'm stuck behind another *slower* driver (and unable to pass/change lane), I DO NOT appreciate a$$hats who tailgate me when I'm not the one holding up traffic.

Yeah, this! This is the only time I usually get tailgated as well.

If it's light out (parking lamps OFF), you can just play with the parking light setting to spoof braking without endangering anyone with an actual brake check

I can understand that what you say is the general case. I always move over when possible and don't hog lanes. Unfortunately people in Utah are not that polite. There will be left lane hoggers who go slow... but in heavy traffic people will press up on your rear here no matter what lane you're in. You can be in the outermost lane and people will still tailgate here. It's a very noticeable difference in driving culture and especially noticeable when I travel out of state and then come back it is just a night and day difference.

I never have to do brake checks. Squirrels just run across the road at the most convenient times. I brake for squirrels.

If you’re driving 140 MPH & someone wants to pass, it’s not for you to deny them the right and you should yield.

Seriously, if I’m not stuck behind slower traffic, I consider tailgaters volunteer rabbits and gleefully send them ahead to flush out bears.
