That's on the bridge (before the toll) on the Bronx side. That would be Highway 1, MTA Police, or NYSP (or maybe even the 45th precinct if they're bored). I'm not sure of the MTA, but I believe all Highway divisions received evaluation DET units. Haven't seem them take one out in ages. You sure this wasn't a false? This is the second report of it being used on that bridge I heard...

i guess it could potentially be a false but my ALPs have never falsed when my heads were all functioning.
it was as i was passing (slightly before) through the automatic ezpass toll gate ( they put up to replace the booths). i crossed this bridge before, with no falses. there was heavy NYSP patrol yesterday, one tucked away before the bridge on the queens side and i had a waze alert for an leo on the bronx side so i assume that one was the leo that hit me or i picked up scatter.
ill tell you though, aside from testing, ive never heard my Alps say “dragoneye ahead “real world, so it was def a shocker.
MTA have not policed the bridges maybe over a year now. NYSP (marked chargers, taurus, explorers and the rare cruiser (forgot the name) that you usually find in CT) has taken control of them and from what it looks like MTA does not care. They make more money off transit than writing tickets. MTA does however have a tow truck on standby though on these bridges.
pretty sure i saw dragoneye just now on I95 NB @ connor st exit (14 i think). always there, but usually a mix of radar and lidar. this guy was running both so R7 picked him up around the bend, and also was tagged on waze.
I say dragoneye because i noticed the two difference size lenses on the side by side lidar gun.

No need to be sorry. This is valuable information that myself and many other members that are in NYC need to hear. I don't take the I95 there unless I'm heading to somewhere in CT or Boston but I really appreciate it. Was this NYPD highway patrol, state police, local town?
NYPD highway patrol. this is a common spot for them. state police don't really venture this far from a TBTA bridge or tunnel in NYC, but you will see the SP just a half mile North when you cross over the border into westchester.
Today specifically they were running 2 cars, saw another unmarked with a customer on the uphill NB hutch overpass.
FYI got my first speeding ticket ever in this same spot... with 1 week left on my mandatory 6 month new license probation.

Interesting, that’s definitely a hot spot, ive seen them using lidar there a ton going back 10-15 years ago! that’s exactly where i first discovered them using the XLR, so your sighting seems to be on point.

Thats not a DE there. I go there everyday and see either a PL3/4 (99% of the time), XLR and one time a LrB.
Yeah, PL3/4 can easily be mistaken for DESL due to the similar design. I'm hoping that it wasn't a DESL.
