A thread created for conversation and comment on current devices for South Australia.
Feel free to update, add or discuss.
After much searching online to confirm lists I'd seen on on radar detector retailers websites E. C. T, eventually I found what seems to be an official government pdf and looking like the most up to date info (to this day as of 8th June 2018). Pdf section about speed measuring devices is dated at the top of the page - 24/4/18.
Please correct it if there is something more current and update the thread if needed or further confirm this document.
Pdf is conveniently available here to those in the RD community :)
Refer to pages 8, 9, 10 & 11 of the pdf (the actual numbers printed on the page in the pdf, not the amount of pages to make it.)
I will scan the relevant pages also for immediate viewing. Information being's at paragraph titled Division 3 - Traffic speed analysers.
Enjoy

Just to back myself up further...
Anyone can find this document located on the South Australian Attorney General website here...

www.legislation.sa.gov.au: South Australian Legislation

Marked as the most "current" document on the Attorney General Department Website. So... I VERY highly doubt the document has been tampered with.

Interesting.....

This is great info you've compiled @Saussie, and good luck with your FOIA request!

I think this might be more appropriate in the AU/ZN forum though, as it would make it easier to find for new users from your area: www.rdforum.org: Australia & New Zealand

No worries mate.
Wherever it suits and gets seen.

Don't think I need a freedom of information request. If I get shot with a truspeed S or SE, by the looks of the documentation, the reading is void as it is not officially classed as authorised equipment for speed measurement according to the Attorney Generals paperwork (at the moment).

Many Thanks.

SAPOL did use the Truspeed even before it was placed in the misc road act and some guy even took them to court and won, then lost the appeal.

SAPOL will do what they want, but if u have the right equipment on your car, who cares what gun they run.

The National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) used to provide a very detailed page of all the equipment they would test for SAPOL but they have since removed it from the web.

Also 2018 should be an interesting year in SA.

Redflex fixed and mobile might?? be replaced, not sure if that will happen yet or with what.
Also some new radar equipment coming too.

I always keen an eye on tenders.sa.gov.au

In the past week i've seen two articles of speeding drivers being caught in SA. In both cases the article pictured handheld laser LTI Ultralyte 100 and LTI Truspeed SE
I'll be sticking clear of SA until i get my ALP
