Do any of the following states use a mobile extender for their highway patrol vehicles? I'll be driving through in the near future and wanted to get an advance warning if I'm near a patrol car.

Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah

From what I can tell only New Mexico still has this type of equipment (460.15 MHz).

Supposedly these are programmed into the BearTracker warning system on some Uniden scanners, but I don't know what they are off the top of my head. You could try searching radioreference.com for the states you are interested in, especially the state-specific forums.

BTW, I have a BT885 with the BearTracker warning system for sale in the classifieds if you're interested :)

Thanks, but looks like most states are encrypting and rending this type of countermeasure obsolete.
